I usually steam my sweet potato which produces a delicious moist, mashed sweet potato. Today I was in a hurry, and decided to give the microwave a go again. Very disappointing, comes out almost like clay. Watched a lot of youtube videos and all these people say it comes out great. Has anyone actually found a way to microwave a sweet potato so it doesn't come out so dry and dense?
Today mine was big, like 400g. I peeled it, covered it with a damp paper towel, and microwaved it on high for 5 mins, turned it over, another 5 minutes. Still wasn't cooked through, so added another 3 minutes. Came out, added butter and honey to it, and it just absorbed instantly.

<insert any food here> cooked in microwave comes out terrible.
Microwaves are great for reheating things. Or if you use special pans/containersfor certan things like bacon and popcorn. How many restaurants do you know that claim to only use microwaves?2 time survivor of The Great Misc Outages of 2022
