Possibly, but only if the company THOUGHT (and had documentation to prove) that their products were being filled with the peptide bonded bcaas. Even then however, the company is responsible for at least some testing of finished material to confirm it meets their own spec sheets.
The manufacturer ultimately isn't responsible for a companies label being correct, that's on the company themselves.
If BPI contracted a manufacturer to produce a peptide bonded BCAA product and ave them anything but that, the company should have caught it in QC testing and when they realized it did not meet label claims conduct a full-scale product recall. If these events happened, BPI would be able to have recourse against the manufacturer for fees/damages, but may still be held liable by the consumers affected by the mislabeling (which is what insurance is for)I got no strings to hold me down

Not a single aspect of the Chromadex seal thing has ever made sense to me. I have no damn clue.
edit:
I just read up on what they were claiming to test. No where do they say finished testing to confirm label accuracy but stateA comprehensive identity testing program for raw materials and finished products;
I could easily argue that the product was tested against internal documents/spec sheets (which may differ from what's actually going into the product) and say "see? it passed the tests we were given to compare against. that's why it got our seal of approval".I got no strings to hold me down

Ok so here is where I am curious. Ever since that label came out, I have been questioning it repeatedly saying what your edit just stated. Where does it say label accuracy is tested? My answers were always the video (which a company spokesman does say label accuracy or maybe it’s “finished product iirc) or an outright statement of “it includes label accuracy “. But that was in reference to the protein product not others.

According to the link the sock account posted, they are alleging that Chromadex knew?
As posted
“ThermoLife's Complaint goes on to explain how BPI claims on its product labels, and in its advertising, that its BCAA products are independently verified by well-known testing lab ChromaDex. But, as alleged by ThermoLife, independent verified lab tests submitted with ThermoLife's Complaint that were performed by Covance Inc. (the company who recently purchased ChromaDex) have proven to ThermoLife that all of BPI's advertising and label claims about their peptide bonded BCAAs are lies; ThermoLife alleges that these tests further prove that BPI has defrauded consumers out of millions of dollars by selling mislabeled, misbranded, and falsely advertised BCAA products.”
So if I am reading this correctly, Covance now tested the product in question or maybe supplied results after purchasing Chromadex (or buying their verification program) and the product did not meet claims.
It makes you think either one or both knew, one jumped off (sold the program or whatever) and/or did not in fact say batches were verified but the label, marketing continued.
In reference to the products mentioned and allegedly.Last edited by OT2000; 12-21-2018 at 07:35 AM.
