Ive been wondering wheter lifting the same weight will still build muscle.
For example
Workout A
Bench 3x5 60kg
On the last set you were fatigue and using all your strenght to complete the last rep.
A week later
Workout A 2
Bench 3x5 60kg
On the last set you begin to feel easier to complete the set you only need to use like 80% of your strenght
Will workout A 2 still build muscle or is it just a waste of time?

Does this count as progressive overload?

If its still hard but you are not as fatigued as last time try adding a little more weight like 2.5-5 pounds. Or what i do sometimes before I add weight is try to rep what I have on the bar 2-3 times more than I want to rep it once I add on the weight. IDK if that makes sense but yea.
Also you CAN build muscle lifting the same weight but increase volume if muscle gain is your objective.Last edited by Chiz214; 12-09-2018 at 11:17 PM.
