Shout out to the team who held a Valentines Day giveaway. Here are my thoughts after using for a little over a week:
First, I haven't used a Intra (or BCAAs) in a while. I've just been using Preworkout. This is the "Original" series with 7g of BCAA for muscle recovery and electrolytes. I tried using 2 different ways. The first was just to mix in a shaker bottle and drink throughout my workout. I didn't like doing this for a few reasons.
1. I felt like it was pretty "strong" for the shaker bottle. This could just be a preference in taste for me. Nothing wrong with the Lemon-Lime Squeeze flavor. As a matter of fact, I really enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet or tart, but for me, I just felt like I didn't like it mixing in a shaker bottle.
2. Orrrrrr, it could have been that I would drink half the bottle early in my workouts, and then go and add more water to it to try and extend it out. Then I just thought, why not just mix it in a larger bottle and drink throughout the day?
So, my preferred way of using was to mix 2 scoops in a half gallon jug that I use. I absolutely loved this because by the time I got to the gym later in the day, I felt much more refreshed and hydrated than normal. Maybe I'm just not drinking enough water prior to, but who cares. When I did this, I just felt overall better.
As far as mixability, it was great. Very fine powder, mixed extremely easily (in both the shaker and the normal jug) and left no residue or "floaties."
I honestly do feel like it helped me throughout my training sessions. Felt more hydrated and refreshed for sure, and that alone is a huge plus.
So, I see why I miss using BCAAs and really need to add them back into my supps! I definitely will be getting some more XTEND and will be trying a few of their other flavors (I've heard good stuff about the grape flavor)!
Thanks again!
