Exclamation Wendler 531 Boring But Big

Should I add more accessory lifts after I do the Main lift for 531 then the BBB? I have been doing the opposite exercise with each other, Squat then 5x10 Deadlift, and Bench then 5x10 Press and so on. So far I have done 1 week but I'm not tired or sore even after I added quite a few more accessories.

What is your Training Max and how did you calculate it?

What were you doing, training wise, for the couple weeks prior to starting the BBB?

What %/weight did you use for the BBB?

Did you do 3x5 or 3x3 week first, did you do the AMRAP/PR set, and how many reps did you get for each exercise? Any jokers?

Did you do any accessories at all?

Remember, being sore is not a reliable indicator that an adequate training stimulus was achieved, the goal isn't to get sore, and routines are usually, including 5/3/1, supposed to be started light and relatively easy

Fist off, 5/3/1 is a powerlifting routine meant for intermediate lifters. Being sore isn't the main goal here.
It is known to start pretty easy and slowly adding weight to prevent stalling prematurely.
Every time i ran it. i was doing the main lift, opposite BBB sets, 2 accessories for the main lift based on sticking points and sometimes a little core work at the end. Keep it basic enough and give it a couple cycles before judging if it's too much or not enough. You haven't even made a full cycle yet.

Eventually, the program has a buttload of variations with more volume you could look into.

I believe the only assistance Wendler recommends is
Pullups, rows, dips, curls on upper days and lower back (good morning or back ext), core on lower days.

If you can do 5x10 deadlift you are definatley using too light of a weight

I never liked the idea of doing BBB 5x10 with deadlift, in principle.

Remember everybody, you can mix and match the supplemental. So for example you can do the 5x10 BBB for press and bench, but for squat and dead you could do 5x5 First Set Last, or 10x5 Boring But Strong, or [seemingly endless list of 5/3/1 supplementals]

But you should be able to do it, if you take the advice of starting too light at 30-40% of Training Max, with an appropriate 85-90% TM.
