I've read that's a myth. In fact, I believe most studies show the opposite - that your metabolism increases as you fast. It makes sense. I have the most energy when I'm fasted, and I can't sleep worth sh!t.

What if you got tired and sleepy when you got hungry? You wouldn't have the energy to go hunt your next meal. You get tired and sleepy after eating, not before.

Not true. Calories have to be adjusted downwards over the course of a diet. What you're describing is a sort of nervous energy which is not the same thing as a fast metabolism. Just taking a coffee on an empty stomach will create this feeling but if you eat a deficit your metabolism will still slow down. Similarly feeling tired due to melatonin secretion after a meal is not related to metabolic slowdown.

Yeah works great. But today I fasted until the afternoon and also went swimming before my meal. Then went to a pizza place and ordered my pizza.

By then I was STARVING but they took a long time to make my order. Finally the order came out and it was wrong and I had to send it back and wait again. Felt like the end of the world.
