link? one thing to keep in mind is that power supplies almost always need replaced on prebuilts, they usually give you some chitty knockoff brand that is like 1 watt away from blowing your rig up in a power surge.

Well, my #1 recommendation is to take all of the parts and plug them into pcpartpicker to see if it adds up to be a good deal.

But considering that the CPU and GPU would be over $1000 alone, it's shaping up well enough to be a good deal.

I have built a few machines along the years… my final opinion is this:

when you build a machine you look for the best motherboard, the best video board, the best Ethernet, the best, the best, the best…

it is like building a car, and choosing the best suspension from Toyota, the best gearbox from Audi, the best engine from Mercedes, and trying to make them work together…

Manufacturers have the advantage of testing what goes better with what, meaning looking for the optimal team work between the parts, rather than having all the best, but not talking to each other.

with this said, I finally decided that building my own machines was more like a hobby for personal satisfaction, not for optimal results.

Do you know how computers work m8? PC architecture standards exist for a reason.

Manufacturers have the advantage of using the cheapest no named chit to throw in your tower to have a barely playable PC and charging as much as they can get away with. Having the lowest quality 650 watt PSU in a box that runs at 649 might optimal in your book, but I wouldn't want a low quality PSU running at full capacity without any head room. Not saying the OP is like that, I haven't bought or followed pre-builts in years, but my immediate concerns with pre-builts are bare minimuim PSU, low quality parts and cooling issues.

No, building your own is for quality parts and a cheaper price. Pre-built gets you same same specs but the parts are cheap low quality and the build is going to cost more.

Also you can have "optimal results" when you build your own cause you get to choose the case, and cooling which gives you more head room to overclock.

    Use nzxt bld.

They don't use cheap in house parts.

They use actual name brands and build it like you would your own. For a really nice price too.

I bought a prebuilt system from Cyberpower PC last October for around 1200. Right before the GPU price increase thanks to mining. Cyberpower actually upgraded my GPU and RAM kit to stuff I didn't even select. I ordered some standard Gtx 1070 and generic 16 GB 2400 kit. They ended up giving me an MSI GTX 1070 Armor and 16 GB 3000 G-Skill Trident Z RGB kit. Used to build my pc and was fun going out and getting all the parts. I used to be against prebuilt, I still am, but only from places like Frys, Best Buy, Walmart, etc... would never recommend their "prebuilt" as they cheap out on parts and overcharge like crazy.

That reminds me, I would want a 4K 60fps rig. I didn't see that option for BLD.

Not saying this is what's going to happen everytime you buy a prebuilt but an interesting video nonetheless (also walmart lul)

Bro walmart knows what parts work best together that PC is finely tuned for optimal performance. That guy reviewing it is just a hobbyist so he wouldn't understand the R&D a manufacturer went through to put that together

Think I'm gonna hold off. I'll branch out a bit on my X (just got Titanfall 2) first before diving into PC gaming. Plus I recently got a FreeSync monitor, so an Nvidia system wouldn't make sense.

They skimped on the mobo, psu, and cpu cooler. Build your own tbh. The price for the prebuilt you linked is $1800 on sale, while original price is $2100.

This is better in every way and cheaper than original price.

    good god. I can't even...

As far as pre-built hate, honestly my Cyberpower mid-range PC has been fantastic and was a steal at the time. PSU died 6 months after purchase but newegg gave me some credit and i got myself an EVGA 750W for $15. I'd definitely be weary of Walmart prebuilds though.

This costs a little more, but much better than that prebuilt made of capacitors that will pop right after that ridiculously short warranty is over with.

These parts have 5 year to lifetime warranties, comes with BF5 (lol?), 8 cores, EVGA step up program, superior cpu cooler (higher OC's), etc.
