Irrelevant BS I add to threads lmao.

You mean saying BCAAs aren't necessary and telling Fug he forgot what DOSE constitutes ENOUGH Taurine is irrelevant and BS? These threads are all the same and my posts are a reflection of the frustration of what this section has turned into. Believe it or not, people used to embrace science and when people proved things with facts, that was generally the end of the debate. Instead now there is a group of us that really believe in science and facts and some others that believe in copy/pastes from demand-shaping articles with incorrect information passed off as fact.

It's funny, when I first became a rep years ago, I thought it was a great thing when you didn't push product you didn't feel the poster actually needed. You helped them get to the source of their issue rather than selling them a product that ultimately wouldn't fix anything. Apparently I was wrong?

    Just saw this...lol.

Not sure how you define powder rep, but I'd define it as someone that claims something that is wholly untrue to be true simply because they have the "best" product to push. Even this those inferior ingredients (oligopeptides) to the ingredients that are already doing nothing.

Why wouldn't a company sell something if there is a market for it? There's plenty of that stuff out there in the world. Just because they choose to sell it doesn't mean I have to push it. There are plenty of great MAN products that I'm happy to suggest consumers spend their cash on. Why suggest they waste it on something that won't do anything when they can spend it on something that is a solid product? Either way, my company wins.

Your logic is poor as usual. Even your 4th sock account would agree with that, right?

Well Red Bull was the enemy of middle aged soccer moms with "may I speak to your manager" haircuts when it first came out. So if it was in Red Bull, it was bad for you. I'm sure some blog or fake TV doctor started that nonsense.

People still say energy drinks are bad for you. I drink them at work and someone will say, why you drinks those they’re bad for you. Then I’ll ask, what ingredient is bad for you and hand them the drink? They almost always say caffeine first then taurine second. Then I show them the amount of caffeine and then show the amount in a Starbucks coffee and they get silent.

Yes, if you ingest 4-5 within an hour, you may be at risk for health complications given the whole stimulants thing. Same with those people that tried that with Four Loko.

    I'm just gonna say this:

Our bodies are very capable of synthesizing taurine, and it's readily available not only in a large majority of popular supplements to begin with, but in many of the foods most people eat on a regular basis.

Arguing that supplementation with anything is necessary based solely off cause and effect without understanding sources is narrow sighted and agenda filled.

If someone is taurine deficient, sure, there is certainly a case for supplementation. But to my understanding, taurine deficiency in humans is usually the result of a much bigger problem/disease.

In transparency, I haven't looked at many studies related to Taurine, but is there any supporting evidence that supplementing with it when you're not deficient or dealing with some sort of disease has any significant, positive result?

Why wouldn't a company sell something if there is a market for it? There's plenty of that stuff out there in the world. Just because they choose to sell it doesn't mean I have to push it. There are plenty of great MAN products that I'm happy to suggest consumers spend their cash on. Why suggest they waste it on something that won't do anything when they can spend it on something that is a solid product? Either way, my company wins.

Your logic is poor as usual. Even your 4th sock account would agree with that, right?
Whats most important is fully understanding the line you represent and keeping your opinions at bay. Not everyone feels or agrees with BCAAs like you do, so be cautious with your responses

The company you represent sells and caters to people that enjoy using BCAAs. I know we all get caught up in the moment, but not all of us feel the same way about certain products and or ingredients, and some of us actually benefit from using certain products

Not really related to this thread, but idk if I've ever asked this.

If I remember correctly...you tend to supplement BCAAs during your workout. Are you going into your workout fasted? I guess additionally I remember you suggesting before bed and when you wake up. Same question around meal timing in those scenarios. For me (and maybe you'll begin to understand where I'm coming from here and it's not just to be contrarian to everything you say), I generally eat a snack (w/ around 20-30g protein) pre-workout and my dinner is right after my workout (also about an hour before I go to sleep).

Well, that's my issue with a lot of what get's mentioned around these parts. I think conclusions are prematurely drawn.

Appreciate the links though, I'll take a look. Maybe they'll convince me a little more.

Edit: that second link is a rat study.

    First link may be interesting.

Double edit: looks like you caught that lol

Yeah there are a fukton of rat and animal studies but there are human ones as well. I know I have some small studies somewhere on my computer, I need to find them but hormone support was one iirc as well.

    What I would have expected.

Skimming through the first article it doesn't look like Taurine supplementation showed to have much of an effect? I still need to read it more thoroughly, so possibly missing something.

A lot to chew on with the new second link you provided...

The first one doesn’t show anything really significant other than the VO2m increase. This would be more beneficial in perhaps weight training. They also used a g for an endurance protocol which to me, isn’t enough.

There are more studies of course

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22855206
This one is on trained men and showed good results

Of course, there are the Red Bull ones you need to forgo lol As cheap as taurine is, it’s worth using whether pwo or on its own. Bulk is maybe $10-15 for several months worth

Of course, there are the Red Bull ones you need to forgo lol As cheap as taurine is, it’s worth using whether pwo or on its own. Bulk is maybe $10-15 for several months worth
lolol ya I'll steer clear of the redbull ones.

That study is def promising but not clear cut. Anything on strength training? Pertains to my interest :P

But ya, I find a lot of the PWO's I use have Taurine to begin with, and I'm not opposed to cheap supplements that show promise.

Not sure on the part solely around weightlifting, they may not exist. However during intense exercise, taurine levels drop which can effect time to exhaustion. So using some prior should ( I say should as I am not aware of actual clinical studies here but in theory) improve muscular taurine levels.

Keep in mind taurine improves amino acid energy pools. I know a study that didn’t show significant anything did show this. Imo, this would work in favor for intense exercise.
