    Deadlift

Hey, I'm trying to max on deadlift soon and wanted some tips. I am 17 years old. I am 6 foot 4 and weigh around 330 pounds. The max I'm going for is 425 pounds. My current max is 405. If you guys can give me any pointers that would be great. Thank you.

just warm up and simply work up to it. Stay within your limits and don't push yourself further if your form starts to fail.

be ready to explode, wear your belt, tight, but not too tight, use either straps or chalk, wait for the right moment, then go for it, with all you got. enjoy.

I always liked the Coan-Phillipi program. I used the template to go from about a 405 deadlift (maybe a tad higher) to 450 in a meet 10 weeks later.

    Super easy to follow: http://tsampa.org/training/scripts/c...lipi_deadlift/

Its a little lighter weight and little more volume than most routines in teh beginning. Focus on form and explosiveness with the speed deads, it will pay dividends as the weights get higher.

call me crazy, but i get stronger using high reps, it works for me, also i use a sumo style, since i'm short (5'7'') i noticed conventional was always killing my lower back. high reps works like a charm, guaranteed success

Most people dont see benefits with high reps once the poundages move beyond what a high school kid could lift.

Doubt it, even gifted lifters like Ed Coan stay away from high rep deadlift sets.

What is your deadlift max? Please post a video of you doing high rep sets with 400 pounds or more on the bar.

Coming from a guy who on other threads claims to see UFOs and is obsessed with "nordic" aliens, I'll take all of your claims with a bit of skepticism, how is that?

Well seeing a UFO isn't really a big deal. All it means is that it's unidentified.

true, but when your screen name is "AngryWHITE" and you start talking about "Nordic angles" one may suspect an ulterior motive.

6 foot and I think I was 200-205 at the time. Hard to say exact timing, been going to the gym for at least 10 years at the time but probably more like 3-4 consistently. I don't remember exactly because it was awhile ago and I haven't maxed since.
