The animation for Hajime no Ippo was really good for it's time. It really sets the tone for the series.

Watch it in this order;

Hajime no Ippo

Hajime no Ippo: Mashiba vs. Kimura
Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger
Hajime no Ippo: Rising

You can watch this on the side after the first season, Hajime no Ippo: Boxer no Kobushi.

yeah it's pretty much a 1:1 perfect adaptation in my opinion they will definitely fit the first arc perfectly within 12 episodes

Great episode.. it was almost as if the writer read my mind.

So as the two kids Emma and Norman were going about planning their escape I was like wtf this plan is extremely unrealistic (liek most plans in anime)
you don't know what's outside
how are you going to avoid pursuit and prevent getting re-captured
how are you going to find food and shelter
what['s your ultimate destination? how are you going to secure some kind of transportation etc?

And then this guy shows up, true MVP




He basically said everything I was thinking in addition to pointing out they can't take everyone since most are under 6 years old (i hadn't thought about that).
Those kids probably can't even go to the bathroom by themselves let alone break out of prison and survive lol

Norman confirmed he is also aware, leaving only Emma as the typical unrealistic anime character.


Also if it was me I'd consider another option strongly. they have no information about the world. I think the best route would have been to capture this "mom" woman and make her talk.. however I think the introduction of that new woman Krone preemptively put an end to that.
Krone looks like some military type, probably sent to deal with the situation lol

One thing i don't get is that if everyone has a tracking device implanted on them can't they just find who was at that tunnel by just looking at who was at the location at that time?
I guess there is no logging of the position of each device.. very unlikely scenario since no one would build a system like that.. Even google keeps track of everywhere you go going like 5 years back or more IRL.


Other question was somewhat answered. Why were they testing the kid's mental acuity if all they were being raised for was to be eaten.

I was thinking there would be a human-dominated society outside BUT the monsters are living in the shadows (kind of like in traditional vampire fiction). And my idea was that the monsters are running this farm (and maybe other farms) as a black market operation without the knowledge of human society/government, with only a few scumbag humans being willing to work the farms in exchange for wealth/protection. For all we know, there could be a country of monsters and a country of humans of roughly equal power which are at war with one another, and human POWs get taken to breed children for the farms. And maybe Emma and the others just have to make it to the human-controlled country. There’s really no way of knowing what the world is like outside the wall.

At the very least, we know there’s at least one other type of farm where humans are bred and the babies are taken from their mothers to join the orphanage.

Also, there’s a problem with their plan that hasn’t been mentioned yet. Even if they have the entire escape planned out (not only from the farm, but to a safe location outside), how are they gonna get all of the children to process the reality of the situation and then move out immediately? Emma and Norman were completely shaken after they found out, and there’s no way they could’ve ran that same night. It’s taken them a day or two to process everything. And Ray had time to process the idea that something happened when Emma and Norman went to the gate, which helped him accept the situation quickly. Not to mention those are the 3 oldest of the kids. There’s no way a 6 year old is gonna process this quicker than those 3 and be ready to move on the escape plan immediately. Their first instinct will be to get scared at what they’ve been told and run to their “Mom” so she can make everything better.

Emma, Norman, and Ray are going to have to lie to the kids and pretend they’re on a treasure hunt or something. You know what, as I was typing this out I realized they’ll probably say they’re playing tag with Mom to get the kids moving quickly and keep them from running to her once the escape plan starts. So only the 3 main characters will know why they’re actually running.
