He should focus on his own business and so should everyone else. If he is not willing to show you and just criticize just ignore him. Do what best for you with proper form even if its the lightest weight

This. Even if others stopped what they were doing and looked, once the scene was over they will have just gone back to their own business, and I bet they will have forgotten it by the following morning. Even if they remember it, they will probably remember it as some idiot giving unsolicited advice at the gym, what a moron. Most people have a lot going on in their life, why would they want to focus on you?

I can imagine how it feels but even if he was rude, he gave you advice. A bad form makes the exercise useless and potentially dangerous.
If I were you I would approach him next time and ask him to show you the correct form. Do this for all the exercises (maybe not with the same guy lol), try to LEARN and build your ego and reputation as well as your physique.
Now go back and lift!!!
