Do you shower at the gym, or at home?

At the moment I go to a pretty basic gym. It's reaching the point where I'm starting to exceed the weight they have available (dumbbells and some of the machines). One good thing is that it has showers. I hate getting into the car with my ass all sweaty and sometimes I work out in the evening so want to get showered right after my workout, get home and start cooking. At home I also wipe down the shower screen and tiles to prevent mould, open a window to let the room air (not so good in the winter when it's cold), and I don't have to do any of those things if I shower at the gym.

Today I visited a different gym as a one-off and it was 100 times bigger and 100 times better than the gym I currently go to. More weights, more equipment, no waiting for things. All of a sudden instead of being one of the fittest looking people at the gym, I was one of the smallest (everyone there was jacked) which I think would be good for motivation. However they don't have a shower :'(

So, do you shower at the gym or wait until you get home?

Years ago I showered at the gym and then went to work. Since I work for myself for many years, I shower at home.

Always shower at the gym. I'd not workout at a gym without a shower as 8 months of the year I ride my motorycle and I'm not putting all my gear back on when I'm dripping in sweat.

Yeah, I don't like tip toeing around the slimy floors where hundreds of other people have been, that is one disadvantage for sure.

Yeah that's another point that I forgot, energy is expensive so I can stay under the shower longer at the gym!

I don't understand how you guys can shower at home unless you're say, going very early before work - drive back home, shower and get dressed for work etc.

I shower in my lunch break so I have to shower at the gym but I normally sweat a lot during my workouts so the last thing I'd want to do is get my sweaty body back into my normal clothes.

At home... I also go at 0430 .

Retired, work out O'dark early, leave in gym gear, return in gym gear. I use my trips to and from the gym as cardio, bike, run walk.

This. I'll shower at the gym if I have to, but I'd rather do it at home, where I know who uses it, and when was the last time it was cleaned.

At home, i don't want to carry all of my "stuff" to the gym, and i know that the shower is cleaned weekly(Tilex). You just stretch and cool down at the gym for 10 min and throw on some thick sweats for the ride home.

I work out early AM at the gym at work, shower there, and then head to the office. It's quite clean and I can lock the door.

Definitely shower at home. I find it interesting how different people are, I never ever would have thought that anyone would consider the cost of a shower at home vs somewhere else!

Shower at the rink in the change room after playing hockey. Stepping off the ice afterwards I am soaked like I just got out of a pool. I dont like it, but its pretty much necessary especially if you are going out for a quick drink afterwards.

Depends. If I am going home after the gym, I will usually shower at home.

That said, if I hit the gym before going to work (rare), or on the way to something else, or if I used the pool, or did some heavy cardio and sweat up a storm - at the gym.

I don't sweat much, as my body limits my intensity, however I always shower at home because if I catch all 3 red lights, it takes me seven minutes.

If you do this, make sure you dust up the boys good with cornstarch (SRS) it will soak up the ballsweat and ward off Jock Itch. Unfortunately learned this the hard way.

Used to shower at the gym, maybe my 1st 2 years, my gym has "gang showers" where it's like a tiled room with 10 shower heads. After awhile I noticed there were guys I only saw in the shower, and never in the gym. Then I noticed they spent all their time in the showers, and the same guys were always there looking at you naked. The last time I showered there, a guy was looking at me a little too friendly like, so I went to another gang shower and he followed me....

Now there's a single shower bathroom, but it's hard to get in because people get in there to shoot pics of themselves for social media. Crazy times.
