It's a Z06 and it's purdy. Picked it up yesterday, but now it's bloody winter, so after tomorrow it has to go into storage. But come the Spring, I see a road trip or two in store for us! Such fun!
The Charger will be his daily driver until it's safe for the Vette to come out and play.

Crazy horsepower, Mark! Way too much power for me (I will never ever drive it), and I hope Himself remembers that we live in a village and not on a racetrack! LOL!

Hi, Lisa. That's a nice car, but definitely not a daily driver, especially where you guys live! I continue to marvel at the engineering and performance that is in that car, rivaling Euro supercars selling for upwards of 3 to 4 times as much.
I've been looking at ZR1/1LE Camaros (same engine as the Z06, basically same suspension/brakes) for a couple of months now, but I don't have any more garage space, and I'm not willing to give up my '86 Z28 (a car that I can still work on without need of a $4000 scan tool).
Tell Jim I said hello, and to keep the shiny side up on that beast. No brain, no gain.

Zl1 is a beast, but I just sold my almost brand-new '18 because the visibility sucks and I hated making such big payments on such an impractical daily driver. That lt4 engine is amazing though and the z06 is even lighter and faster
Flex has excellent taste, the z06 is an excellent choice for a mid life crisis. Hopefully he droves it harder than 90% of the owners I see with them

Lulz. Guy up the street has a '17 SS. He said the visibility out the back is so bad that if he has to put the car in reverse, he just resigns himself to the fact that he'll probably back into something.
Indeed that engine (as well as all other LS-based engines) is remarkable in it's ability to produce large amounts of reliable and smooth-idling power across a wide rpm range from a relatively simple pushrod design. No brain, no gain.

It's a beauty. If you are storing for the winter use gas stabilizer. You don't want issues in the spring. Newer engines are less forgiving with old gas
My daughter's boyfriend blew the engine (two connecting rods)in his Hellcat. He's a mechanic at a dealership, so he's installing his own replacement engine ($35,000.00CAD). I sleep better now that it's offline. Can't wait until first snow and he has to put it away.I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

Jim says Hi and Thanks! The Corvette is going into indoor Winter storage tomorrow. We actually got quite an accumulation of snow last night so it's off for its Winter nap.
Ha ha! He's had a few Corvettes over the years, but since he's taken a ribbing about mid-life crisis, he ordered this licence plate (the correct spelling was already taken):

I assume they salt the roads there? They sure do here, and that's a car-killer; even a late model 'Vette, with fiberglass and carbon fiber still uses steel and aluminum components, not to even mention the havoc that road salt wreaks on all the under-chassis electrical connectors that keep all the on-board computers happy and talking to each other.
I bought my Z28 new, and did what Jim's doing---garaging it during bad weather, and only taking it out in the Winter when the streets are bone dry and clear of salt. It's never seen rain nor snow even one time.
No brain, no gain.

Gorgeous ride but being a Z06 a tad too rich for my blood. Looking at a couple of stingrays right now which even used with low miles have at least come down below $40k finally.

Many, many years ago, in order to keep my '65 Corvette I owned at the time out of snow/rain/anything other than sunshine, I bought a 200K+ miles 1961 Chevy Biscayne to drive to work in bad weather. While it ran 'okay,' it was so rusty from Rust Belt salted roadways that you didn't even need to open the driver's door to get inside; you could just climb through the rust holes.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), I have no photos of that car; otherwise, I'd be happy to oblige you.Last edited by ironwill2008; 11-20-2018 at 05:10 AM.

When I had my Camaro that lived most of its life in the south I put it away at the first sign of salt. Due to 2 breakdowns I had to get it out one March while still salty and sloppy, only took a few months to see tiny rust bubbles around the wheel wells. Fortunately I sold it that summer to a soldier who brought it home to TX, never to see the indignity of salt again.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Wow, sweet car! At least this winter if you lose Flex you'll know he's probably just in the garage sitting in the car haha.
Also, to the road salt discussion for those that have to drive their car in the rust belt like we do here in Indy, this stuff has been working very well last few winters for us. A 3 pack of this stuff covers the whole bottom of our 4Runner and made a huge difference in how much rust was accrued over the winter time.

Just hope he doesn't drive it too fast, here's a cautionary tale about speeding
