NFL investigating the Kraft situation. Looks like there is a very good chance he's going to get fined and suspended.

Also, I've read that we have the most draft picks (12) and most draft picks (6) in the first 100 picks. I know no one ever knows what Belichick will do, but the fact that we have the oldest roster in the league, I'm hoping he uses these picks to bring in a bunch of young talent to set up the future post Brady and Belichick.

So, I hate how heading into draft time crazy scenarios about trades and who we are going to draft always comes up. That being said I heard a new one this morning.

Last year, the Patriots reportedly were interested in QB Josh Rosen but obviously didn't draft him. Rumors have it that Cardinals HC Kingsbury loves QB Kyler Murray. He said they were committed to Rosen, but the GM said Rosen was their guy "right now." People are reading that like he's there guy now, but if something better comes up, they'll go for it. This is where the rumors and crazy scenarios come into play. Because of the Patriots interest in Rosen last season and because Kingsbury loves Murray, they're thinking the Patriots could make a move for Rosen at a discounted rate.

I'll be honest, I would like that move. Give Rosen a season to learn from Brady and mature. Rosen's stats weren't impressive this season, but he was in a TERRIBLE system to do well. I believe he can be a better QB than people realize.

As with Belichick, no one ever knows what they're thinking so this will be all for nothing.

Also, lots of people hyping up AB or OBJ or Tate to New England this off season. I don't see it, but the more I think about it the more we are going to work on bringing in a legit WR to help Brady.

it seems we are going to lose a good chunk of player on both side if the reports are right... BB is the man but his drafting skill sometimes had left the team down - let's be honest last season was a miracle he got production out a bunch of no names and I don't think u can always count on that

Great TE to team with Gronk and take over for him in the future.
QB to groom to replace Brady.

Big body WR and a super speed guy in Isabella. A smart and talented corner in Long. Hard hitting safety in Johnson. Talented and physical RB in Harris. Old school tough ILB in Edwards. Solid DL depth in Bryant once he heals. Ivey is a monster similar to Trent Brown and someone Scarny can coach up. Fields is just fast.

Historically, Belichick has drafted defensive players or offensive lineman early. Obviously, there are exceptions to that, but for the most part that's been his draft strategy.

I don't see them drafting a TE and 2 WRs early. I don't mind Isabella in the 4th though. Rumors have it that Brady is looking for a 3 year extension. If that's true, no reason to use a 2nd round draft pick on a QB when we can address other needs there. Also, Etling has been way more involved with the team than practice players normally are. I'm not sure if they're grooming him and think he could take over, but it makes me think we don't even draft a QB this year IF the Brady extension rumors are true.

If it annoys you that's fine but feel free to run the simulation yourself and see what you wind up with. You can't draft based on what you want to see happen as that usually leads to poor results.

Have you looked at free agent WRs this year? It's not a great class. There's no way in hell Brady plays beyond 45. You draft a QB now and by the time Brady hangs them up you can actually retain this one. Lock is considered by some as a top 10 pick. Getting him in the 2nd round was too good of value to pass up. Fant is also a top tier TE prospect and NE uses them heavily. No Dwayne Allen, Gronk maybe a year or two left.

And you're not getting Isabella in the 4th round. He's not a slot guy. He's Bradin Cooks a lot more than he's Wes Welker.

I don't think either will be back unless they want to take a team friendly deal and being that they're the best on the market right now, I don't think they will.

Bennett could be good. He reported that he wasn't going to take a pay cut and his current contract is 3 year, $31 million. Nice addition to the team. Not a fan of him personally though. I assume this means we won't be signing Flowers any longer.

I can't imagine Amendola enjoying his time in Miami. Maybe the city he might, but I can't imagine he wants to go out on a bad team with no chance of winning another ring.
