so how we feel about pats - dolphins?
I think we have a lot more tape on them that they have on us BUT mac is gonna run (potentially) ala Tom Brady (less throwing of course) and Miami HC has a lot insight into that...
I think we can def win the game

Another season of uncertainty, yet cautious excitement. However, I think we can take Miami this week. Weird even questioning that still. You always knew the signs of fall in New England. The crisp evening air, the changing leaves, and the Pats beating up Miami in Foxboro. Great times.

Jones looked good except the play early on when he threw it backwards. If he keeps it up, they may have a good QB to build around. It's hard to say the running backs looked good too when they cost the game but they did run well. So I'm optimistic about the offense. The defense also seemed to be playing well, nothing great but at least they didn't get gashed.

We are currently looking like a 6-8 win team.
Another brutal season incoming. All we need now is that Tyler guy in this thread to tell us how optimistic he is about our chances to make the playoffs. LOL
Hopefully Mac works out. How long before folks are less patient with Bill?Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

Jets are gonna Jet...
It's kinda hard to get too excited about the future based on this game. So far Jones looks solid. He had another brain fart with the grounding call but I'm hoping these things are just rookie mistakes and will sort themselves out.
The defense had some issues but at least they took advantage of the gifts Wilson threw their way.
As for the season, all I'm looking for is are they at least competitive and see how Jones does over an entire season. I don't expect them to beat a top tier team, which is fine. I don't want to see them be a team that gets destroyed by the top tier and thinks they're good when they trash a team like the Jets...
The good news is I don't think we're back to the Rod Rust era yet.

That was a 1990's like loss for the Patriots yesterday. Came out flat, and played like chit.
1. Special teams: A blocked punt AND kicking it out of bounds on a kickoff. Neither should ever happen.
2. Jonnu Smith: Might have played the worst individual game in recent memory. 3 drops, I'll let the one hand try pass. One led to a pick 6. A holding call, and a missed block that almost got Jones killed. Hunter Henry didn't cover himself in glory with that stupid false start penalty on 4 and 1.
3. Jonathan Jones. A weak game in the secondary. Kamara ran him over, and was covering the TD on the hail Mary by Winston.
4. Kyle Van Noy. Let Kamara go into the middle for first TD with Hightower. rushing the passer. Communication needs to be better.
5. Brandon Boldin. I know White got hurt. This guy is special teams period. 3 runs -5 yards and juggled on catch that he finally hung onto. Time to let Rhamondre Stevenson out of purgatory for fumbling.
6. Offensive line. Need to open up some holes. Damien Harris did NOTHING yesterday.
7. Last drive defense. Got it shoved right up their ass yesterday and physically dominated.
Barmore is a player. Judon, Bourne and Diedrich Wise also played well.

Can they get 4 wins this season?
I can't believe how bad Houston was at the end of the game. Maybe they beat the Jets again to reach win #3.
So far the bright spot is Jones can play. It's very early still but the Pats may have a solid QB. The offense seems to be okay except for ball security from the backs. Too many fumbles already. Of course just being okay doesn't get you past 8-8, assuming you have a solid defense.
The defense is suspect though. That 10 minute opening drive of runs they let happen was laughable. Looks like last years bright spot was short lived.

Frustrating game last night. Two incredibly stupid penalties cost them.
Why is Myles Bryant playing? He has stunk all year and that unnecesary roughing penalty was atrocious. Pierre Strong should be cut today. Running into the kicker. Unbelievable.
The Henry TD was a TD, but whatever. Patriots got that same call to their advantage against the Steelers a couple of years back.
They lose by 4 instead of 7. Vikings are frauds. Kirk Cousins is a poor man's Phillip Rivers.
