McDaniels interviews with the Browns tomorrow and the Browns are expected to make a decision by end of week. More RUMORS have it that McDaniels for some reason has always wanted to take over in Cleveland. With no GM, the Browns could bring him on a coach and GM like Belichick.
It'll be nice to finally get some sort of resolution with McDaniels. This whole rumor game is annoying.

Mayfield has good potential, but the real value is OBJ, Landry and Chubb. Those are solid offensive weapons for an offensive minded HC.
If Brady stays, I'd love to see him throwing to an OBJ type WR. Austin Hooper is a FA this off season and I think he would be a stellar acquisition.New England Patriot

Looks like it's projected the Patriots to have around $50m in cap space in 2020. Plenty of money to bring in someone good. Emmanuel Sanders, AJ Green, Amari Cooper, Randall Cobb, Hooper.Last edited by Tyler2106; 01-09-2020 at 07:36 PM.

uhmmmm when was the last time BB paid good money for "some one" good outside the organization?
we need two receivers imho: 1 Edelman replacement (mayers???) and 1 that can stretch out the field (and we have been prob asking for this for the last 20 years not counting Randy Moss) - My take here is that BB and McD don't "believe" in the value of that type of receiver even tho we destroyed everyone when Randy was on the team."Paper money is going away" - EM

also talking about TB and his dead money (13.5 millions on the cap): if they believe Stidman has potential perhaps they could sign Brady for 2 year (spread new deal over 3 or 4 years) so when Stidman takes over the team he will resign for "cheap" money as he is an unknow commodity the financial impact and their ability to put a competitive team out there is not impacted.

I know Patriots fans probably don't know what to do with themselves this weekend. Let's face it you guys have at least been to the championship game for the last 9 years.
Options I've learned during my long Cowboys drought.
1. Find that feel good story. There is always one it seems to tug at the old heart strings.
2. Enjoy having no dog in the fight. Let's face it even with all the rings you still get emotional come playoff time. Now you can watch playoff football and just enjoy the beauty of the game itself.
3. Remember to enjoy the freedom of having no games to watch finally.
Seriously, 9 straight championship games was insane.

I think someone posted something along these lines, but this ranks our WRs to better show how bad they were at creating separation (at throw). This list is out of 143 NFL WRs that ran at least 100 routes this season. 1 creating the most separation, 143 being the worst:
Edelman #106
Sanu #112
Gordon #118
Meyers #120
Dorsett #121
Harry #143
Confirmation that our WRs weren't helping Brady at all this season.
Edelman will have surgery on his shoulder and knee. They're expecting him to be ready by training camp.
Potentially big news: rumors had it that McDaniels was going to bring on Kevin O'Connell as his OC if he got a HC position. Reports are saying the Rams are finalizing a deal with O'Connell to make him part of their coaching staff. Again, I hate the rumors, but this rumor might make it less enticing for McDaniels to leave.New England Patriot

Edelman will be 34 next season and is no longer able to stay consistently healthy.
The Patriots can no longer rely on him as ‘the guy’ in the passing game, but rather another piece of the passing game.
The team needs to sign a good tight end and a great receiver at a minimum.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

The Pats Oline is no longer good enough to protect a 42 year old QB. And how long do they expect Brady to play? It's not like he's going to get better YOY.
The sooner the Pats rebuild the better for them. They have 6 Supes, a couple of down years ain't the end of the world.
The real issue will be when Hoodie decides to hang them up, which also has to be in the near future.Early AM workout crew.

I'm not sure he can't be that guy. Edelman, when healthy, is still Brady's favorite target. It was Deandre Hopkins that said this season Edelman is one of the best route runners in the game. Edelman still has it, but when teams started double covering him, they rendered him almost useless...something teams haven't done in years past and something McDaniels never figured out how to get him the ball.
I agree signing a WR and TE would be helpful.
The offensive line was an issue all season long. Wynn back helped and we should be able to bolster the line before next season. People who don't watch the Patriots play, think Brady is old and washed up and should retire. He's still got it. See my above post on rankings of his WRs. They're almost ALL dead last in creating separation. WR who can't create separation and a line that can't protect him is a recipe for poor QB play.New England Patriot

Cleveland Browns have requested to interview VP of football operations Andrew Berry of the Eagles. This puts both Berry and the Colts assistant GM on the Browns radar for GM, which they're reporting is a good indication that McDaniels will not be the next head coach of the Browns.
I'm happy about this. I want McDaniels back.New England Patriot

I called this one too in this tread - Miami at some point also looked unstoppable running the option read...
teams in the NFL are too good (even more in post season) to let a team beat u with the same play over and over - even Titans running with Henry need to hit some passes to make the runs meaningful.

Came in to post this. I honestly don't understand how they chose Stefanski over McDaniels. I heard the interview didn't go well, which I thought was odd, but maybe that was the case...maybe McDaniels had a different idea of how to run the team than the Browns had in mind.
Brady said he hasn't thought about his contract and what he'll do yet. Says most teams don't make those kind of decisions this quickly after the season. I think we'll see Brady and McDaniels back for another SB run.New England Patriot

Center David Andrews says he's optimistic about a return next season. Has a meeting with the doctor to be cleared in February. He'd be a great player to get back in 2020, but with an health issue like he has / had, I don't want him rushing back and risking his life.

My hope for this season is we get Brady back and add an offensive toy and make another run at it.
But, what I really want to see is a succession plan for Brady. The guy isn't going to be around forever and no one wants to see the Patriots roll over and die until we get a high enough draft pick for a good QB. I have to imagine that's one thing the Patriots are looking at doing this season. Trading for an old washed up QB doesn't seem like it would work as well as getting a little more out of a skilled position player.New England Patriot

Raider 100 mils warranty over 5 years (of course he will only play 2 or 3 max)
50 x 2 with titans
90 x 3 with Dallas
90 x 3 with Tampa
90 x 3 with Dolphins (this make total sense for dolphins draft THE guy and let him learn under Brady for 2 years)
90 x 3 with the Bills (same as Dolphins)
lots of teams can use someone like Brady - he is not "young Brady" to carry the team O but he can manage the game like no other assuming the team already have a good D and a solid running game."Paper money is going away" - EM
