Yup. have just skimmed the first few pages... this is a rehash of their prior flawed analysis. Whats interesting is that if they didn't have an axe to grind the paper would actually be a perfectly fine demonstration of how arbitrage works in the real world. it's pretty neat for academics to be able to watch the flows of fiat and commodity legs of cross exchange arbitrage. There is nothing wierd about what they find. The only odd bit is their strange conspiracy theories that they attach to completely ordinary market activity. If they didn't have an axe to grind this could actually be turned into a really nice paper on arbitrage.

Looks like the run up to $20k was the work one freakin person.

No it wasn't. Coinbase, at the peak of the bubble, ran out of bitcoin to sell to it's customers and wicked to $20,000 and very nearly broke higher than that. The exchange just melted upwards while the rest of the market hovered around 15k.

Coinbase running away far harder than bitfinex doesn't sound like tether pumping the market.

Do I sound like I need things clarifying? I say exactly what I mean. Bottom line, none of these guys itt ever commit to a simple buy/sell/hold, and none can produce any evidence of ever making any money. Credibility, zero.

The actual profitable traders aren't asking for handouts from their paid group. Because they're traders, not marketing people LARPing as traders.

I’m only talking about the two or three TA brahs itt. I want some evidence that they know what they are doing. All they have to do is say buy/hold/sell, or give me their %age margin on the year. Then we can all see if there’s anything to TA or not. Pretty simple.

All they’ve done so far is give me salty negs.

Well then I wouldn't get too worried. There are a million ideas out there at a dime apiece. Only ones that really matter are your own at the end of the day.

Honestly, I don't want to see ROE%% returns of anyone. I (try and) judge based on the merit of their content and who they are and not on their account size\performance. Usually they are pretty correlated.

Just..no. Investing is calculated gambling. Only the timeline changes. I had to explain this to a pension fund manager the other day (he didn’t agree). He’s gambling. That’s what he’s paid to do. Exactly the same as playing poker, just on a different timescale.

How you determine value is up to you of course. I’m just a little amazed that with the success of your TA strategies you don’t want to state your profit percentages.

On the other hand, I’ve known and talked to more than a couple of guys with real track records in the market, 8 and 9 figures net worth, and they laugh at the sort of guff you guys spout in this thread. There’s only one thing they do with Bollinger, I assure you.

I've bought up some Tezos, learned about their "baking" program a few weeks back. Seems like a decent amount of work to set up. Received a similar message from CB and piqued my interest. Though I'm wary of keeping anything on exchanges.

That doesn't explain the run up to 15k. Unless your saying it was a natural pump. I find that difficult to believe.

I mean, Ethereum had already gone from $6 to $60 with Tether only issuing about 30m USD overall. And it was a 2 year runup for the pumps, the slowest bubble crypto has ever had.

I mean, there was a mania and real volumes and real people interested. I'd just expect to see different things, or for it to all have blown up by now, if they really were just printing willy-nilly.

All that controversy has pretty much been sorted. It´s no longer an issue. There was a crazy guy in charge at first, but he has been replaced a long time ago. The lawsuits are just trolls

The big players are going to moon the **** out of it soon enough, they will use the growing DEFI narrative and ETH2.0 to do it.
