Any exchange holds your coins for you. At any moment they can pop you with extra KYC, proof if income etc. It isn't likely to happen unless you are moving huge amounts but the same rules apply, it's their BTC and they are acting like a bank for you.
The beauty of crypto is that other than needing to exchange your native currency for crypto initially, you really don't need that middle man there. By holding my ETH in my own wallet, I can do what I want with it without having to go through another party.
I have a decent amount of crypto on centralized exchanges as well. Crypto.com offers a prepaid debit card with 3% cashback if you stake 500MCO in their app, so I do that. and have some eth locked up in their earn program which gets me interest on it. Same scenario though, they fake death and leave with everyones crypto.
You can hold your own keys on either a mobile wallet, hardware wallet, or even a web wallet. They all work the same although they have varying levels of security, mostly due to risk of being compromised.
I was jumping in around $150 for the past 2 years, lol. We will probably get a decent correction, or it could moon from these levels. No way to tell.Last edited by Techriding101; 02-13-2020 at 01:27 PM.

Interesting that ETC pumped hard right before bitcoin tried to push through 10.5k last night. I've noticed this behavior a lot more over the last month with various alts that fit similar profiles to ETC. The bitcoin SV pump on the 14th (midnight UTC time) was the most obvious, it pumped 150% in no time and dragged bitcoin up with it. Plenty of alts/forks that are pumping are obvious scams, my thoughts would be different if these were solid projects. I'm still bullish on bitcoin for 2020 but the timing of these pumps relative to bitcoins price and the reputation of the alts involved has me thinking there's more manipulation than usual. Stay safe

I don´t think btc will be the first coin to rech a trillion dollar mcap. Most normies I talk to view bitcoin as a failure. Where will all the new money come from to pump btc to $100k? I don´t see btc reaching more than $50k at most, but we will see. There will definitely be a crypto with a trillion dollar mcap in the future tho, just not bitcoin imo.

Good lord, LINK is doing numbers. Jesus and I was considering buying at one point just under the $2 mark.
I wish I had the luxury to be able to throw money into Crypto as I would like to. With balancing life, debt and etc it made it hard during those times.
Hoping I have the opportunity to really beef up my investments this year and strap in for a wild ride. Well see how this plays out.
lol, BTC will hit trillion MC first.
