These people have been mining and supporting the idea for damn near a DECADE. But yeah, every critique of the thousand plus wave riding ICO's is most likely a "professional hit piece".

And before you start going off about how slowly the Bitcoin protocol is progressing, I would think long and hard about what would have happened to Ethereum if the DAO hack happened in the last year versus when it did. "Move fast and break things" is a great mantra for R&D, it is not a great mantra when dealing with billions of dollars and an emerging market that is primarily trying to increase adoption and TRUST from the mainstream.

You think the people who hold the strings of power are going to hand over their handle? Do you honestly believe bitcoin is more decentralized than what we have now? My cash is functioning pretty well in society, I dont need a new version. What will bitcoin do for me? Trade one evil for another? Better yet, trade for the devil I dont know?

Both bitcoin and ethereum are critically flawed by distribution, and design. Adopting a new money standard is just a regime change.

What is this great utopia you envision? How is it any different than what we already have now? How does bitcoin or any crypto for that matter aim to bring this about?

I would never think of bitcoin as a replacement for cash. It might have that capability in the future, but that's not where the large societal value of it lies.

Geez altcoins are dead right now. I just pulled up binance and only saw one coin over 50% gain since yesterday and only like 10 coins that gained over 10% stupid crypto with no opportunities and being dead
I woke up this morning still breathing. Might as well take advantage of it.

I'm not even 100% confident in my trading abilities. I'm still of the belief I'm just happening to get luckier more times than not. Until I solidify myself doing that and just have play money I don't want to hop into it. I will let you guys know if that moment happens anytime soon ha.

Well you are an outlier. Every other maximalist seems to think it will be. Some of the smarter ones see it as a tax shelter, but even then, i certainly wouldnt put my entire net worth in bitcoin to hide it from government powers unless my country was going through political unrest. If my country was in political unrest i would probably put it in something pretty liquid also or maybe trade for a dominant countries currency. I can see the value in bitcoin, but im not going to sit on a pedestal and proselytize bitcoin to normies because lets be honest, they do not care, and probably wont care.

Its funny to me that the bitcoin maximalists waste so much energy on trying to fight each other and others about decentralization, blocksizes, etc. This whole time they fight, they are not any closer to mainstream adoption after 10 years. Ethereum has done more for mainstream adoption than bitcoin ever has. Ethereum piggy backed of blockchain, but then bitcoin piggybacked off ethereums adoption. Bitcoin maximalists have a really bad case of sour grapes, and its honestly very amusing seeing them hate on BAT too. They hate on BAT because "it was created out of thin air" meanwhile so was litecoin, and Charlie Lee has the nerve to say he would use Brave if it ran of litecoin. lmfao.

Monero supporters hate BAT, Bitcoin supporters hate BAT, pretty much everyone hates BAT. I saw the same hate for ethereum because it went against their strongly imbedded beliefs. I would hate BAT and ETH too if i spent 10 years trying to build a "one world currency" and got shut down by a better system. Give up a little decentralization for smart contracts, and give up a little more to put crypto in the hands of every internet user.

This decentralization meme is pretty comical. Maybe if these nerds spent a little more time in the real world they would understand progress doesnt wait for a perfect product. BTC,ETH,BAT will all be replaced in due time.

It's the same basic chit, you don't have to go full degen with it. Being able to bet both directions is next level, srs emptied my binance account months ago and haven't looked back.

Whatever happened to that SEC reconsideration of 9 ETF’s? I know the Solid X/Van Eck ETF decision got delayed to end of February, but there was a separate pending decision on 9 other ETF’s.

Also it’s weird how the market doesn’t even react to news anymore. So much has happened that would’ve caused a huge surge last year, and now the market just ignores news. Like exchange listings, institutional developments etc, everything is just ignored with no impact on price now.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing. Just buying along the way down to accumulate and lower my DCA. Have open buy orders on Gemini for BTC, ZEC, LTC. Will probably send some more money to Gemini to add more ETH too.

Nothing reacts to the news because BTC hasn't pumped in a long time, and everything revolves around BTC right now. If we go on a bull run, then I think you'll see coins react to positive news.

I wouldn't attribute my success now or in the future to my intelligence. That glory goes to God. Dont let my chitposting in the past fool you, im not trying to be the person i was. Im a lot less prideful, angry, envious, lazy etc etc, and a lot more loving, intelligent, hardworking etc than i was before.

Before I would just come in here and tell everyone to fuk off lol.

My perspective is much different now. Personally im not a big fan of BAT or any crypto for that matter. I think they are all trash, and broken, and everyone is trying to seek this perfect solution, but there isnt one and wont ever be.

Never followed verge. Too many damn coins to follow at this point. Only BTC matters now and when it will eventually begin to rise again. Have a few buy points from $2900 and down for quick flips right now.

Yeah agree everything is about BTC now. And seems like BTC won’t do anything until the regulatory uncertainty is resolved. Just hoping that eventual ETF approval will spark the next bull run but idk.

if Vlad and the original whitepaper writer are trashing it, then rip in peace. Omg is done. Wonder if Joseph Poon or vitalik will chime in and defend them.

Yes I have more buy orders from $2960 down too. I’m usually a holder but if those hit and then price goes up before Dec 31, I might quick flip those buys for tax purposes to get a FIFO realized loss to offset my realized gains from Jan/Feb.

Yep Verge is a fork of dogecoin.

Here's my list of alts and how much they need to pump for me to even break even.

WTC - Has to pump 420% for me to be breakeven.

    Ncash - 530%

    Neo - 355%

    Cvc - 200%

These numbers will continue to increase as we get deeper and deeper into the bear market.

    chrome-extension://oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm/https://basicattentiontoken.org/token-economics-considering-token-velocity/token-econ.pdf

Did i just read this right? Looks like every single crypto was just chit on. So much for digital golds fixed supply or ethereums inflationary supply or xrp's high supply or sub1x low supply. Everything is meaningless because transaction volume for everything is low. Every coin will reach price stability that reflects their transaction volume or there is a resurgence in speculation. Does this mean we are going back to the organic days of bitcoin and ethereum?

$65 ethereum and $1300 Bitcoin? Maybe we wont go that low, but we are going to be here for a while unless scaling, adoption, or speculation picks back up. Speculation drove the price from the $1300 bitcoin to the $20k listed until it popped. Now it looks like we need another round of speculation equal to or greater if we want to see it there again or heres the kicker. We need transactions that are proportional to strong adoption.

Never thought i would say this as a previous eth maximalist, but it looks like xrp is looking a lot more pretty than bitcoin and ethereum lmao. At least in the short term. In the long term im not going to hold my breath for bitcoin or ethereum. If they solve scaling great. If they solve adoption awesome. I've already seen what the price can do, but they have two hills to climb if they want those high organic transaction numbers, and i think their speculation has run out of steam. BAT is looking joocier and joocier everyday. Basically a clean slate. No speculation, No scaling issues, and user adoption is much better and easier than bitcoin and ethereum.

Crypto zealots missed one of the biggest fundamentals to business. They built something only zealots want or will want to use. More focused on decentralization that good UI and UX. Grandma aint gonna be sending you any bitcorns or ethermons for christmas anytime soon.

Cant believe i got myself into this chitshow
