Ah ok! Well, nicely done my friend!
Knowing the strategy and what you want to do is easy part IMO - To execute flawlessly is the hard part and deserves credit!
I wanted to short the 4k area for the entire 3 days it was there, Then i had a short in, Got stopped out - Didn't know wtf to do next and just sat hoping btc would pump to 4200. Well now i think i know - it might be wiser to use lower leverage, and a higher stop loss, And watch the charts instead of using a tight stop loss.

LOL
Exactly that, which is why I moved back to the Daily and weekly. I don't feel comfortable here intraday, and I know my limitations and my tendencies as a trader. Intra during a bear market is not for me. When I feel my emotions are going off track, I know I have to revert back to a higher TF, been sucked in too many times in the past and its not worth the losses.*US Navy Vet*

Man, In one of my experiments - I would trade my demo bitmex account with the 2min and 5 min charts. I have done this a few times and my demo account was up 40% in a couple of days. My strategy was basically altering stochastic to 21,3,5 setting and use default rsi settings. Wait for both the stoch and rsi to reach the extremes (70/80 - 20-30) And then take a trade from there. Close the trade once the stoch/rsi reaches the opposite end and did this again and again. I did this many many times for very very small moves.
I did 30 trades like this out of which 23 trades were successful !! But i dont wanna follow that strategy again!!
Of course this strategy did not work out for long after i caught a nasty pump - and pretty much all my profits were wiped out. haha. But it sure was hectic and fun trading the smaller time frames, And now i can slightly decipher some of the noise in the lower timeframes as well. IDK why price even moves in those time ranges - Must be the bots duelling each other or something.

The Bollinger's are PERFECT for that strategy. 1st target is your MA centerline, second target is opposite band. I used to do such, I keep an eye out for it on higher charts but the opportunity doesn't come very often.
I do expect at least one more shot @ the 4k area. I thought it could previously have gone as high as 5k, but it's looking like we're hitting a brick wall on coinbase around 4300. The 2014 fractal if it ends up holding true, shows us stuck in this area for about a month or so before a final rejection @ the hands of the 50, then capitulation, which would be about on par for a mid-feb new low. That's where I'm at currently, just waiting really. Then I'd expect a longer accumulation zone for most of the year.
It's just boring really, lol. That's what I'm really getting at here.*US Navy Vet*

Hmm Yeah good idea! Bollingers are supposed to be good at consolidating markets i think!
Another shot at 4k would be great idea to re-enter a short, But at this point i'd be really happy if btc even reaches 3.8k(3.8k area is where most of the finex people went long)..I think we might see 5k levels as well ONE DAY - But There are way too many longs on RN which might be a obstacle for such a move to happen.
My main conflict with comparing 2014 to our current market cycle is that - 2014 correction on the weekly charts was like 77%, But now our current correction seems to be around 84% with many people arguing that this might go even lower.
I too feel like this market is gonna take a lot of time to recover. Ideal time to be working on your other stuff and also be learning trading so that when the bulls do show up you will be better prepared!

I see approx. 87% sir.
https://www.tradingview.com/x/5YlA5yvE/
Also note, that first base line touch to entire drop-off time.....280days on both accounts. This was pointed out to me as well, so those that are saying there's 0 information to use from that chart..............
It appears as if we're either pinned in the first part currently, which would suggest another restest of 4k, OR we've bottomed, and skipped the middle part. There's a chance we still go down from here, albeit I'm not sure how great anymore, or how far. Either way, the rejection of the 50 only happened it two of those places there....
edit: I would argue there's actually quite a bit of credible information in that chart, a lot of people clearly don't know or want to use it. That's not my problem.Last edited by HeBrewHammah; 01-15-2019 at 09:55 AM.

. Only up 13% in a few months on $250k in one account...I am shorting...do you know what that is *******? Most of you Kent's are playing with under $10 k and think TA is your Bible..it's just like the Bible, has nothing to with anything...I didn't say net worth either, condo fully paid, more savings in cash than your moms age times a thousand, paid off car...way to assume my peasant friend...I'll cut to the chase..Bitcoin current price should be $2k...I'll explain why in time...it's called perceived value...look it up...might save you enough to buy that used 2011 toyota corolla..lol *******
You think you are getting rich quick, that's your mistake, $250 in investments, $50k cash, 0aid off car and condo...at 44.. you would need to save/ invest/ maintain, basically save..$25/k per year...on your non skills having ******* salary of $60 k...I didn't think soLast edited by PowersKenny; 01-15-2019 at 10:22 AM.

. Brah do the math...13%0in 5 months at $250k is over $13k...your one day gain... awesome I understand the upside, I also know *******s bought Bitcoin at $20 k and jumped off a cliff...I shorted the stock market, due to some indicators..but your daily gain will be hit with a daily loss of similar value...I did it methodically....my credentials...BA in Economics, resume...more than you can afford pal...Sr. Financial Analyst..22 years experience..( note the Sr. Part)
.Now tell me yours...lol..I'll be waiting...my story has remained unchanged...I think you are all wrong in the pricing of this...many have paid due to that by losing money...but go check your charts *******
