This. Squatting is way more risky for your back than dl. I have degenerative disks and DL does not aggravate them. Squatting will put me out of the gym for a week.
edit: In fact DLing actually helped alleviate my back pain due to degenerative disks. Strengthening that core goes a long way. Doing ****ty form on any lifts will **** you up over time. So if you're going to do these compounds, you better pay close attention to form.

Very srs
If you kept up with him recently it was obvious he was getting surgery done to relieve some back pain from years of lifting
Now hes had several and cant walk
If you have seen how orthopedic fukkups work
They always try like 3 surgeries afterwards to fix it, then like 75% of the time it ends in amputation
Several of my old tradie coworkers are now missing toes and feet and fingers

These are competitive athletes who push themselves to the extreme, ofc they will have issues in their later days. Lifting moderate numbers, like 200kg DL, 160kg squat and a 120kg bench won't cripple you lol...How are you going to mention 400 and 1000 lbs in the same sentence, 400lbs DL is nothing for our bodies.

yeah, you get that many because they ****ed up what should have been a 1 or 2 surgery thing
example: middle aged woman I worked with went to get a bone spur fixed near her heel Surg #1
she woke up and her toe hurt like a biitch
finally 2 months later doctors admit her toe has been broken all this time and they "didn't catch it"
Surg #2 goes in to get her toe bone replaced with like a titanium bone or something
wakes up and toe is still fukked, turns out they put it in upside down
Surg #3 gets toe bone put in the correct way
starts healing, not healing correctly
surg #4 to fix god knows what that didn't heal correctly
starts healing again, gets infected
surg #5 to remove infected tissue
not much toe left, cant walk
surg #6 amputation
now she has no big toe
this happens a lot and I see the same thing being true with Ronnie

Had pretty extensive shoulder surgery in March of 17, doc told me the next step was replacement... Really hard to hear that at the time, but glad it didn't come to that.
That was from my quest to bench 405 for reps.
Honestly, I look exactly the same now. Once you have a solid base of mass, you can maintain it working hard in the 10-12 rep range. I didn't realize that at the time, really could have used that info 10 years ago.
Can't even imagine what he must wake up feeling like everyday. Get well soon champ.*MFCi*

One guy could hardly walk due to fukked knees. Still came to the gym though. Eventually he needed a hip replacement too which went badly wrong. Apparently he woke up in absolute agony before the operation was finished and to make matters worse they had replaced the wrong hip.
Another dude who's always been huge and shredded can no longer walk without calipers but still trains upper body. His legs legitimately look like those of 9 year old polio victim.
Supplement induced bone rot is no joke.fist yourself

Ronnie claims to have first developed problems in high school, and the heavy weights and grinders obviously didn't help. But it's pathetic to see absolute nobodies talk chit about him. 10 surgeries sounds like hell, but it still could have been worse.
His legacy will literally live forever, and that's all he cared about.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

A HUGE portion of surgeons will push unnecessary surgery. Not saying he didn't need any but docs will exaggerate outcomes so you get the surgery and then often times the fine print says "btw you might not walk again" had several family members consider surgery for back pain but decided against it. Wonder if stem cell injections would be an option for Ronnie.

more like don't use barbells
i've seen at least 20 posts of natties destroying their backs on here over the years doing DLs. not sure how many were permanent injuries
i work with a guy with a fukked back and his life is absolutely miserable.
everything feels so much more natural when your hands can move in independent planes from each other. even chinups feel way better on your shoulders if you use ringsMake Europe Germany Again

at some point you realize that you only get one body and you can't fukk it up. i have chitty knees from soccer but they don't hurt when i walk around, fukk sloots etc. so i have zero interest in building legs with anything other than cycling. don't care if dyel bird legs. means nothing compared to not limping around when i'm older. fukk that
it's not just bodybuilders. i do lots and lots of walking and i see tons (literally) of fat people every single day who have a thought process of "i'm fat, better start running" when they really should 1) fix their diet before exercising at all and 2) start walking and 3) not run until they lose weight and 4) not run on pavement ever even if they are leanLast edited by Ratfish; 10-23-2018 at 11:12 AM.

personally, i lift in high rep ranges with dumbbells and don't do anything that feels like it's hurting the joint instead of the muscle. modify ROM and grip to make sure it feels comfortable throughout the whole movement
the reality is that you could be in the 99.99 physique percentile just being 12% and doing casual lifting of any kindLast edited by Ratfish; 10-23-2018 at 11:24 AM.
