But my take was that the increase in competition categories has still left many women not really fitting in well anywhere...face isn't pretty enough or muscles are too big/hard, body is too lean.

The author herself says that she has found she doesn't really fit because she can't get small enough for one category and isn't big enough for another category.

Not likely, but can't see why they don't ditch the heels and let the competitors wear what they want within reason.

When I first started in WPD in natty orgs... heels were required. Physique mandatories/routine in heels is some great fun, lemme tell ya!

I skimmed the paper for a bit... I'd like to really read it and digest, but since I'm working on my next cert right ow, study time is dedicated to that.

It seems to be a lengthy discussion about something I've spoken about with various people before, especially watching what was happening to female BB athletes - I really respect what they do and the decisions they make. I felt bad that they appeared to be getting marginalized by the very machine that helped create them. At the same time, you could watch them get pushed out and watch the boundaries of the other divisions shift, almost to fill a gap that was being created. If everything continues to push BB out, then fill that gap.. what's next? Everyone gets bigger and now we need some new div ... classic bikini?


It's a good thing the author didn't pick one of the alternate orgs out there to base her studies on though.... there are orgs out there with endless divs to fit every possible nuance. Imagine trying to explain 16 different divs where nobody can tell the difference to begin with!
