The etching is definitely cool. They’re redoing the end cap too I believe, which I think is smart. The knurl is mountainous but not to the level of the EX bar.
I wrote in the PowerSpeed bar review that the knurl was extremely similar to the Vulcan Absolute Black Oxide, which is one of my faves. Well the new EX bar is extremely similar to the Vulcan Absolute Stainless, which is another fave.
Im excited to check the PowerSpeed in stainless. It’s a really nice medium-aggression knurl, but I imagine it will feel even better in SS.

Speaking of the PowerSpeed, which has the unique outer smooth area, the more I use it the more I'm REALLY surprised that the Irongrip barbell doesn't get more love on the barbell scene. What an INCREDIBLE bar, not only for ease of adjustment while racked but the aggressive knurling is excellent and the enlarged center knurling area is nice for squatting. I'm finding myself shoving the Westside, Cerakote, and Rogue OPB's in a corner when I hit the gym at work. The IG is solid @ss barbell that deserves a review!

Yes sir, I, saw one in my area and messaged the person today. Great bars, but they are pricey from what I remember ($400-$450 range). The knurl is probably on the same level as a TPB or OPB in terms of aggressiveness. The base gym has a few IG bars and they appear to have held up extremely well in an abusive environment. Probably a similair industrial hard chrome that Rogue uses on their sleeves.

I just dropped the order for the fully loaded 5000v2(globe pullup, 90"x30", lat pulldown, dip, flip down and strap safeties, 2 utility horns etc.)
I was looking for a forever rack and was going to go Rogue since I'm 1.5hrs out from Columbus and its US made. After comparing the Monster rack to the 5000v2, it didn't make much sense to go Rogue.
1- Rogue Rack is too wide
2- No real lat pulldown attachment that doesnt cost 3k
3- Custom belt squat attachment coming from Rep looks good enough/compact.
I'll put up a review when I get it.---------------------------------------

Seems like I've been the only one talking that bar up around here. I've been using them for about 5 years now, and a few of the people on this forum know that I've said this is the single best bar you can find on the used market, hands down. I've seen them sell for as little as $75 and they're roughly $550 retail bar! I've acquired a few myself, in fact, I traded REP Defect Bar for one a while back. When I saw the Powerspeed Bar released, I knew this was the bar they were modeling after. Some know, I work with some special forces units, and I have about 6 IG PBs and a slew of Rogue bars at my disposal, and most of these Army guys are pretty Rogue loyal, but each one of them has by choice preferred to use the IG PB for Squat and Bench work over the OPB and OHP for training without me even saying a thing! The knurl is about perfect for training and I would say the extended center knurl easily is my favorite aspect of the bar, and not to mention, much easier to slide across Jcups no matter what Coop says that it isn't.

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't even think they're selling one-off bars anymore, basically all multi-bar facility purchases. Yeah, this bar really doesn't make the cut for the home gym user, at least not as a new purchase, not at the retail price, but if you can find one used, I would jump all over one.

Something like that would not be re-sold since it's a functional problem.
These are all new stock, but we had an issue identified with bolts not being tightened enough at the hinge at the factory, so we did a 100% inspection of our stock here to tighten them down. Any with scratches were added to this clearance stock. They'll all be sold by tomorrow based on the velocity now, so just an fyi.www.repfitness.com - Gym equipment manufacturer.

I received my Rep PR5000V2 and so far I got sent a side globe pullup bar and not the front one I ordered. So this will be my first test of Reps customer service. Everything else so far is solid, everything was wrapped and bolts were in bags(awesome idea). They did include the old hardware for v1 as well which is just odd.
Got to put together the lat pulldown attachment tomorrow so I'll see how that goes.
The rack is massive and is so over the top it's insane.Last edited by jamesovercome; 10-31-2019 at 03:27 AM.
