I can't comment on the AB5000 pads but I ordered a wide pad for the FB5000 and it's firm and grips well. Hopefully the AB5000 pads are just as nice.

Yes I had the wide pad
But had to sell it for a friend with the frame i got made. Did not want to but it is the same person I loaded weights and bar .
If the AB-5000 pad is same as wide pad then that is a winner

Ppl who have Thompson fat pad and Rep wide pad ,are both the same interns grip and firmness

I'm a fan of the regular FB5000 pad and would have no complaints if the AB5000 is similar. Haven't tried the fat pad. It's firm and grippy.

The Thompson feels firmer but it's also thicker, so when it compresses it gives the feeling of more firm. The REP wide pad is noticably thinner. The Thompson has a better grip feel as well. The vinyl has a more rubberized feel that I feel you stick to a bit better. The REP Wide Pad is Fat Pad-light in ever sense of the word. That may be a positve or negative depending on how you want to take that.

Pre-orders are up if anyone is interested.

I got the AB-5200, hoping it can replace my AB-3000 and FB-5000. Definitely getting rid of my AB-3000 either way

Got a PowerSpeed bar order in. Looks to still be in stock, so hopefully it will be delivered in a couple weeks.

Edit: Looks like it shipped and will be delivered Tue or Wed. That was fast!

Awesome! I look forward to your review and opinions (and of course pictures) when you get the bench, from what I've read it's a whole lotta bench for the money! I dig the FI adjustable ladder design for a rack setting and would go as far to say that my top two in this category would be the Rogue 2.0 Adjustable bench and the AB-5200 (although the latter offers much more features and cost less).

I scored a deal on the Rogue 2.0 Adjustable a while back and sold my dedicated flat bench, it's an absolute tank that feels like a dedicated flat bench and adds much more settings and the ladder design is rock solid (I like it even better than the pop-pin design which I use on my other bench for dumbbells and perhaps lever arms some point soon).

What color frame did you go with?

    Went with black

I am sure the Rogue is a great bench but I really really like the vertical storage capabilities of the Rep bench. That was the main selling point to me otherwise I'd just make do with my AB-3000 (which is fine but nothing great). If it can replace both my benches it will clear up a lot of room, especially since I am going to make my rack a 6 post, I can store it inside weight section of the rack when not in use.

My Rep wide pad is 4" thick , total. Is the Thompson pad thicker? I thought these were copies of one another.

Glad some of you were able to capitalize on the limited window! AB-5200 is one of the last few items we still have stock available on, likely for another hour or two.

Any chance that one will ship out before the window posted or is that pretty firm? Wasn't sure if you actually have some on hand or not.

Do you know when the replacement AB-3100 pads might restock? I was watching for them pre-panic and haven't seen them ever in stock, so maybe I'm just timing it poorly. I added them to a wishlist now, but not sure if that notifies me when they're in stock.

I ordered a replacement FB-5000 pad so I can mount my current wide pad to a bench rack and still have the FB-5000 for dumbbell stuff. Still really liking the wide pad.

Ah, either the 3000 wasn't available or they sold out before I looked. Guess it wasn't meant to be just yet.

None on hand but a huge amount arriving in May. I think the only variable is how quickly warehouse team can crank out these orders plus the existing. I'd say there's a good chance you receive that item early.

I ordered a replacement FB-5000 pad so I can mount my current wide pad to a bench rack and still have the FB-5000 for dumbbell stuff. Still really liking the wide pad.
Yeah just didn't put those on preorder. They are due to arrive late June.

Not for a long time. Commercial gyms are literally the worst place you can imagine for spreading a virus, other than maybe an ER. Everyone touches the same stuff, breathing heavily, sweating. 6ft isn't going to help you when someone is expelling air as hard as they can on a heavy lift, or out of breath on a treadmill. Gyms will re-open, and some people will go back, but some won't. Not until there is an effective treatment or a vaccine. Vaccine is hopefully late next year. Treatment unknown. If you know anyone or regularly interact with anyone high risk, are you going to go to the gym?

I think a lot of people are going to be considering those questions, and "re-opening" isn't going to get things back to normal when quite a few people just won't care that gyms are open. Same with a lot of other businesses unfortunately.

I need an adjustable bench for dumbbell work. Talk me into or out of pre ordering a 5200.

Have been needing one and was watching craigs for a used commercial when COVID hit.

Between the Rep 5200 and the Rogue adj 2.0 right now.

No, not even close, Thomsponis is thicker and heavier. I would say the Titan Hefty Pad is more a copy of the Thompson the the REP. The REP pad is more than suitable for the majority of people out there, and it's much lighter in weight which makes the bench overall easier to move, but it isn't as thick or heavy duty as either Thompson or Titan.

Yeah that vertical storage feature looks awesome, you also get an extra lower incline 15° angle and an extra seat pad angle, plus the ladder adjustment guards which all look legit and the gripper vinyl on the 12" back pad.

I prefer a U.S. made and fully welded adjustable bench personally (the other deciding factor was getting it for lower than retail value), but I'll be doggoned if that AB-5200 isn't on par, or perhaps better with more added features than not when pitted up against the Rogue 2.0 Adjustable bench and that's not saying much since the Rogue freakin' rocks as well!

One thing I'll be curious to find out is how firm the padding is on the AB-5200, the Rogue's padding is rock solid (no give at all), but I like it cause it's super stable when benching on it.

I was looking at both as well and ended up going Rep. Main factor to me is that you can store it upright which will get it out of the way easier when you don't need it. I'm sure the Rogue has a nice pad on it but the Rep looks like it uses the same material as on my FB-5000 and I really like it (the old style pad on my AB-3000 doesn't even come close and I would definitely go Rogue if Rep was still using that). Rep's is also going to be a bit cheaper so that is nice as well but I don't feel like I am giving anything up at all going with the cheaper option.

Either way, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
