Another small reason is that the attachment plate is large and adds to the stability/rigidity of the rack. Not necessary, but nice to have.

The main reason we include it though is that it's required for the lat/low row and some of the related attachments we are releasing or may develop in the future. It's a lot easier to develop those knowing everyone has the same mounting/attachment points. If you know you'll never need those, or don't mind paying for extra pieces later on, putting something else there may be a good option.
I missed your explanation about having standard configuration for add-ons. A very valid business reason. a 3x3 beam may still accomplish the same. Could still included a branded minimal nameplate like on the PR4000.

Anyone know what the upright dimensions and hole diameter of the PR-4000 are?

I recently bought a pair of safety straps for my Titan X-3, and they're not great. I know Rep has a better reputation than Titan does, so I'd like to try the Rep straps out.
Titan is 75mm*75mm with 11/16" hole sizes; Is Rep 3"*3" with 5/8" holes, or does it match Titan?

I hit new 1RMs on all three lifts during comp week. That alone made it worthwhile.

REP pressed pause on orders from now until the 10th, really hoping I can snag that HR-5000 when it's back in stock after the 15th. Otherwise looking at Promaxima's half rack, Sorinex, or possibly something 'Legendary'. Any others I should consider? Promaxima looks like it would be drop in ready with my Mech Mono's, I'd have to drill into the Legend, and Sorinex seems like it would just be SUPER pricey. Hmmn, come on REP make this decision easy!

Dynamic Fitness? I'm working with them on a quote/customization for the ultra pro g2 half rack. Drop in with two inch spacing, not sure if the would work with the monos.

For a half rack to work it would either need a drop-in style like the picture below, or side holes like REP's HR-5000.

Need 3x3 uprights with 1" holes on the sides, the height also needs to be in the 80-92" range to work with my ceilings.

REP HR-5000 is EXACTLY what I'm looking for but I'm not 100% sold on it, will run $1350 with shipping and I'm not opposed to paying more.

Why not Rogue? They’re localish to you, and you’ll have to pay Rep to ship. Percentage wise they’re not that much more, and you can buy the beams you want.

Rouge doesn't have a half rack worth buying, or I would consider them.

Edit: Just looked at the Collegiate one from Rogue again, stupid thing is $1,800 for a comparable rack before even adding Tax & Shipping (if I don't wanna waste two hours of my life driving). The REP is probably $1350 shipped and a Base 3142 from Legend is probably around $1450-$1500 shipped (basic j-hooks). Legend has a serious shot of getting my order if they can drill some holes in the sides, guessing if I upgrade the pullup bar it would still be cheaper than Rogue.

If you like this one you should really look for an old Pendlay half rack. I hear those are pretty solid.

    Got it.

I haven't done anything with my York rack, but I did try rigging my Mech monolifts up on my Ethos bench to see how it would work. Seemed to work fine with the 3x3 uprights, shims, and 5/8" hitch pins. Seems like it could be made to work with 2x3 uprights and 5/8" pins, too, though I have no way to try it. Maybe Mech will come by and tell me that a 5/8" pin through the 1" monolift hole is a bad idea, but it seemed very sturdy. I do have some bushings to so I can use 5/8" pins in 1" holes, but they didn't seem necessary with the little test run I set up. I'm just trying to explore all options before I replace my rack.

Out of curiosity, if considering Rogue, why not the RM3 instead of the collegiate? It’s only 24” deep and is cheaper. Do you just prefer to have the extra “feet” out in front of your front post for lifting off the front of the rack?

Link to which rack you are talking about? I'm looking for a half rack (not full), that has 3x3 posts to fit my mono's and preferably with holes on all sides. Rogue has two half racks that I know of, the HR-2 and the Monster Collegiate.

It’s a full rack, not a half rack but the dimensions are very similar. I just was curious what about a half rack you prefer versus a small full rack like the RM-3 that is very similar in size.

It's just my weird preference. I can only ever see myself in a half rack or 3/4 open top rack after getting used to them, I tried switching back to a full rack a few years ago and hated the confined feeling of benching and squatting. There was plenty of space but for some reason it still felt cramped, there's just no going back for me. But trust me I considered it, looked at the possibility of a REP six-post rack with spotters on the front. But it would just be a waste, I'd never want to work inside the rack.

I've had the REP HR-5000 for a number of months, and I have zero regrets. It's been a great rack and has really opened up some floor space that I didn't have with my York 3/4 rack.

Urban - your mech mono's would work with the HR-5000?

My Mono's were 3x3" and with holes in the sides, they were a unique design and thanks to Mech's ingenuity they should work with a wide variety of racks if I take the side drop-in pins out.

I thought of using the RM-3 as a 1/2 rack, putting weight horns on the rear upright using spotter arms on the front and extending some feet off of the front .
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

That’s what I was suggesting doing as well. Seems like the smartest way to go if considering Rogue due to the price being less than the collegiate and essentially the same thing. Once I get my 24” crossmembers to attach my rhino to the side of my RM4 I may be willing to give the legs/feet from my standalone Rhino to one of you guys should you want them to stabilize your RM3.

It's an interesting idea, I'll have to also try that with the REP HR-5000 and see what happens with the price.

Aren't you pretty close to Stray Dog? They have 3x3 racks with holes in the sides already.

Didn't think about them, looks like 94" tall which would push my ceiling height of 96" given I have 2" of platform now. Didn't think going without a rack would be that bad for just a month or so, but it's killing me! Even if I only really bench and squat in the rack, if the REP 5000 is back in stock earlier than the HR-5000 I might price out one with front feet and spotters and see what it looks like. Legend responded so they are still in play, they can't drill additional holes in the sides but that wouldn't be too hard for me to do myself.
