Funny enough, the bench has a wobble (that I'm sure I could fix) except for in the place where I place it to bench.. It's rock solid in that position so I'm probably going to leave it alone.

The rack is solid with no weights on it. It can't be bolted down so I've got some weight horns on the way to put on the back. The j-cups seem to be the least reliable part of the operation imo because the bottom rubber piece spins if you try to adjust the position of the bar with any weight on the bar. Replacements look to be cheap enough if it tears up..

All in all, for the weight that I am currently capable of lifting, it seems very solid and nice. Took about 40 minutes to put the bench together because of the rubber feet and about an hour and fifteen minutes to put the rack together with the right tools.. The instructions are lacking but are easy enough to figure out with enough studying.

For the price, you can't really beat it.
Congrats on your new rack and bench. If you do want to fix the wobble, start by loosening and tightening the bolts again. Depending on the order you tighten them, you can probably even things out.

I'm close to confident I'm gonna be getting the Rep AB-5000 when it's back in stock, but have a few questions to the owners...how do you like this bench when in the incline position for barbell incline pressing?

Is it solid and stable in these positions?

Does the seat pad line up good with the back pad and are the incline positions just right?

I haven’t had any issues with what you’re describing. It’s been rock solid for me in every position. Highly recommend it overall.

Rep is pretty awesome, my bench is going to be several weeks late so they offered me another color available or $30 credit.

I'm going to replace a parabody adjustable bench with the fb5000 and looking for a little advice. The parabody has a 10" width and I know I want a wider pad and more stability a FB bench provides. For reference I'm 5"11 190 and usually workout with 185-225 for reps. Should I go 12" or 14"?

Might depend as much on your measured shoulder width, and how that stacks up with users that like the 14" versus the 12".

I don't have the Rep, but I went from 10" to 14". Was night and day, shoulder stopped hurting and BP went up. I suspect 12" would have been sufficient, but can't confirm. I'm 5'9" 205# for reference.

Have both 12” and 14” and I like the 12” much better. 14” tends to pinch my back/shoulders. I’m 5’9” 185 I think the 12” pad is sufficient for most

The review is spot in. On the storage pins problem I tried an experiment while rep finds a good sponsored solution. I put some spacers in the plate side and it gave enough space for the bolt to tighten from the back. Found some large rubber washers at hardware store for better looking solution. A better material would be umhw.

Dimentions are 1 inch ID 3 inch OD.

We haven't forgotten about the 5000 series. It is being re-developed and everything you see on the 4000 series will be coming to the 5000 later this summer, plus some extras.

I wonder if my wife would divorce me if I sell the full rack I just purchased a year ago and buy the redeveloped 5000. Maybe she wouldn't notice.

Duke, sent you a PM a few weeks ago. Have some questions about the upcoming monolifts... there may be a market for them to be used on 3x4 uprights with a small redesign.

Just saw their new HR-5000 half-rack. I'm wondering how much weight their "front porch" design can handle without any support bracing underneath...

The pull up bar isn't mounted exclusively to the "front porch" as it straddles the upright, so it will be fine.

I find it interesting. I was thinking of adding something similar to my rack. It would be simple to just find a 24" or 30" cross-member and cut it in half then slap an end cap.
Sight, if only Mech6 still took orders...

I got one from the first batch, so I've been using it for a while. It's an awesome bench! Don't hesitate to buy. My only "gripe" is that it's much heavier than the Rogue flat bench I had, so moving it around requires more effort and attention. I haven't pulled the trigger on the foot/leg attachment, but may when I get a chance. I have a Rogue GHD, and am curious if this could be a serious replacement, for me.

I am looking at getting the FB-5000 with wide pad, am I going to be missing out on much by using this vs the Thompson Fat Pad? I am not benching that much but I could use the wider pad for shoulder issues.

I'd make it my primary rack bench in no time, as for the foot/leg attachment, one of the movements worth its weight in gold on decline is the barbell decline pullover/extension.

It's hard to say, but in general, the bigger you are and the stronger you are, the more the Thompson Fat Pad makes sense. The REP pad is probably good enough for 98% of the people looking for an upgraded bench, in fact, I'd even say that the 12" width is likely sufficient for them as well. To me, where the Thompson Fat Pad excels at is with larger, heavier lifters moving larger weights. The foam is denser and just feels more secure, but you're also paying for it as well.

Thanks, I am 6'1, 200 lbs and while I haven't maxed in years I'd say I am only around 250 or so. Bench was never my strong point and I don't ever really expect to get above 300, if I do it won't be by much. I just want a flat bench and figured the wide pad could help with shoulder issues. Plus the Rep one is so cheap compared to their standard one with the FB-5000 it seems silly to not get it.
