Question You have to get out the nest to find yourself?

Do you guys believe this to be true? You have to suffer and move to a new place you never been to succeed, whether that’s you leaving the house to go to university or moving to a brand new city.

Anyone find this to be true?

    Depends for each person.
    Most will never find themselves.

    Bang on.

Those that try to use the cope of saving money by living at home til theyre 30 all have arrested development and secretly don’t want to move out

I have a friend who is 30 living with mommy and daddy, doesn’t cook his own meals, or buy groceries, and won’t sacrifice the luxuries he’s grown accustomed to. Toxic relationship with his parents too. Can’t imagine how badly it’s warped his mindset by now. I couldn’t look myself in the mirror

    Yes and no.
Just being in the streets homeless wont help you.
On other hand, sooner or later its good to leave home, when you can stand on own two feet.

That toxic relationship is no surprise, they are probably sick of seeing him everyday. It was the same with me when I was living with my brother, you just start getting on each others nerves and start kinda hating each other. Since I've moved out into my own place we have a way more healthier relationship, and we laugh about the time we lived together for a few years, and the dumb fights we had.

no man should live with another man, it makes me cringe these people living with 3-5 housemates, lmao. What a ****ing chitshow that must be. I don't think I can ever live with someone else again(other than maybe my GF) it's just too peaceful with just myself

    I believe this is true.

Unfortunately in 2018 I think the vast majority of 18-30 year olds will find it very difficult to afford rent/mortgage without having roommates. Especially in the high population centers where rent/housing is currently crazing. So time's are definitely changing.

That being said i'm sitting on some cash "Waiting for the housing markey to crash." Like I'm sure everyone else is. FML

I don't agree with the OP's expression. I got out at 21, bought my place, and haven't changed one iota. I haven't found anything that wasn't already there. At 27, I am still exactly who I was at 28, except more mature. I didn't have to move out to realize the things that are most important to me in my life.

Should you move out of your parents eventually? Yes. You need to find an avenue that is self-sustaining that can lead to financial independence. I still love my family though and wouldn't hesitate to move back in or have them move in with me when they get older. Ultimately, time and memories with them is what I cherish. Just because we co-habitat doesn't mean that I can't "find myself".

Feels, I felt like a totally new person when I moved out at 22, in the sense that I could do whatever I wanted...
