Im your ordinary skinny fat looking person. I will be hitting the gym back after a 1.5 year break. Also i lack muscle mass in some areas like my arms and shoulders
My main target is to gain muscle mass to help me later (a year or so) to cut my excess fat.
Now what supplements do i need while eating clean?

Also by any chance has anyonr tried a product called Challenger Nutrition Whey Protein?

I posted from my smartphone excuse any typos.

    You don't 'need' any supplements.

What do you mean when you say "eating clean"? What is your planned daily calories and carb/fat/protein, weekly bodyweight gain goal?

What routine do you intend to run?

Those are all far more important than any supplement. Use protein powder as needed to meet your daily protein goal.

There are a number of quality protein powders out there (quite a few). Many of them are available here on bodybuilding.com. Look into

Controlled Labs PROmore particularly orange cream pop
Dymatize ISO-100 particularly birthday cake or fudge brownie
PES Select particularly frosted chocolate cupcake
    Gaspari/Hi Tech Precision
    ANS N-ISO CnC
Optimum Gold Standard Whey is still good to go, just a little behind on flavoring (try extreme milk chocolate)
    And many more

Also I'd pick up some creatine monohydrate powder. 3-5 grams a day, every day, in any beverage, at any time of day, no loading, no cycling

Maybe a multi vitamin, maybe fish oil (aim for 2-3g combined EPA/DHA per day)

Yup i didnt tell much information. My bad lol.

Im 28 years, 183cms tall and weighing 85kgs.

On most calorie calculations websites i used it said i need around 2900 calories a day to maintain my weight. Thats exactly what i want. I want to build muscle while losing fat.
Or even building muscle (for now). My main concern tho is eating much to gain muscle might give me more fat than i already have. Thats why i thought supplements might come in handy in such situations. What do you think ?

If you are a novice/newb, you can build muscle without adding bodyweight...for awhile. A short while. But mostly you'll just get stronger as a newb from neurological adaptations (improved form, more efficient motor unit recruitment). To really get somewhere you basically have to choose bulk (gain bodyweight, build muscle, and some fat) or cut (lose bodyweight, lose fat, try to maintain muscle). One or the other at a time.

Diet, Routine, Rest are the big 3, are all you need, and will account for like 95% of your progress.

That said...creatine is a good staple go ahead and start creatine monohydrate. Protein powder is as much a [processed, powder form] food as it is a protein, use it to meet protein goals as needed.

And the multi/fish oil for general health.

Get into a routine with tracking your nutrition (diet = nutrition, bulk or cut or maintain, diet here doesn't mean losing weight) and routine before worrying more than that about supplements

Thing is i dont have a strong foundation of muscle mass to cut or maintain if i decided a cut. I think bulking is my way to go in my situation.

Talking about creatine...something like Nitro Tech has 3gm of creatine /scoop. Would that work as a protein and creatine at the same time or its preferred to get a separate creatine product ? And if so any creatine monohydrate product/brand will get the job done or something specific will be better than others ?

Final question...besides vitamins and/or fish oil...is there a need for me to use Amino ?

    Thanks alot man.

If it has 3g of creatine per scoop, and you have a full scoop or more every day, you are covered for creatine. Any creatine monohydrate.

Don't spend any money on amino acid supplements. Just hit your protein intake for the day, each day.

It'll all come down to what is missing from your diet.

If you cannot consume your required protein targets through whole foods, then you'll need to pick up a protein supplement.

If you do not consume a lot of fish I would recommend picking up a fish oil.

& so on with a multivitamin, etc.

I would recommend picking up a bulk/cheap creatine monohydrate product.

While no supplement is really "crucial", it's hard to go wrong with creatine. It's cheap, convenient, and one of the few supplements that has very solid scientific backing.

If you're eating at a maintenance, but want to gain some muscle, just go with a slight increase in your daily calories and make sure you're hitting your macros.
As for hitting macros, you can always feel free to add in a basic protein powder if you're struggling to hit protein goals

    I am like u , i have a skinny body , so i think u have two options to choose :
u need to eat more , preferably 5 to 6 meals a day , ur meals needs to be rich in carbs and proteins (rice chicken eggs fish ...)
Or u can eat also 4 meals and add a supplement but here u will need to choose carefully, u need to know ur body well u need to know if ur body gain a lot or little fat , so if ur body gain a lot of fat u can go with whey protein and bcaa , if not u can go with mass and amino .
As a advice u can begin with the first program and after 3 months and to know ur body well and if u have seen a difference u will add a supplement .
The training is same for the two programs, 1h or 45 min train hard feel the burn in ur muscles ,3 times cardio in the week don't go over 20 min .
Last advice u can install an application in ur smartphone to help u with ur nutrition, for me i use "fitness pal", good luck bro from morroco

You need to hit your macros (protein, carbs, fats) as required to reach your goals. You do not need to target specific foods. As long as you are hitting your macro/calorie goals by the end of the day you will achieve your results.

I would highly recommend visiting the nutrition section stickies to help you determine how many calories/day you should be targeting based on your current goals.
