Hey guys,
I have to meet my daily calories of around 2800 kcal. With that being said, my macros are ~300 Carbs ~180 Protein 70 Fat
Since I work full time and it sucks to just eat every 2 hours 4 -5 times a day. I figured I could just put everything into a blender and mix them up instead. Is there any drawbacks to this? Obviously I will still eat 2 meals a day, but the rest will be consumed through my custom smoothie. I was just wondering if doing this long term would have any negative on my gains or anything?
Here's my recipe in case anyone wondering with pretty much all the stuff gotten from Costco:
> Milk (low fat) x4 servings (240ml each)
> Oat meals x2 servings (40g each)
> Greek Yogurt x2 servings (170g each)
> Cranberry Juice x1 serving (240mg each)
> And x2 protein scoops
So total kcal is ~1600
Thank you!

it should not be, from my understanding.
However, given I'm not a nutritionist and there might be something I'm not knowledgeable about, I figured I should ask on here. Because for those who struggle to gain weight, why didnt they just all blend everything together and drink them instead of posting questions asking how to get enough macros/calories while bulking.

ew but egg whites aren’t bad you don’t taste them even eggs are too funky but tuna and fruit smoothie seems just wrong
Op that is fine it’s not like you’re leaning on half your diet to be bulking protein power
You could also up carbs lower fat for less volume or eat two big meals. Personally I think it’s a myth eating more than x amounts of at once means it won’t get used/stored differently/pissed out, your body will just stay fuller longer as it absorbes, most food sits in your stomach for 2 hours.SuperHercules crew

so if you eat 50 grams of protein you only need 20, so it excretes 30 therefor also excreting the calories? And then 4000 cals of only protein a day but I only need 2400 to maintain, but I don’t gain weight cause I’ll excrete Marcos/calories. The only time I know this can happen is when a type 1 diabetic eats carbs without using insulin, though it’s very dangerous shuts the kidneys down and they have to drink gallons of water while the body goes into ketoacidosis turning the blood into acid and burning the organs with blood sugars from 500-700.
Not trying to be cheeky but I don’t understand how you can absorb a calorie but not it’s macro unless you don’t have a working pancreasSuperHercules crew

hmmm I wish the study did more than 30 people total and not all young males only over 8 weeks, young guys have lots of igf-1 rolling around and might have less chance of weight fluctuating. But I love studies like this that aren’t a blog. None the less it was surprising with how much more macros were consumed that didn’t cause a change in weight.
Have you read the whole study? I read the abstract. I would be interested to see cholesterol levels and maybe in a larger group of people both genders with different ages then a pretty graph of it all. Also, when my ex ate too much protein he got gout, but that could have been pizza pop tarts eggwhite protein shake diet...
I personally eat a ton of protein 200g+ dailySuperHercules crew

Sounds ridiculous and excessive.
Most folks who aren't gaining but are maintaining need only a few spoons of peanut butter (or some similarly easy way to eat a little more) to get into a surplus. They usually don't need to dump their normal diet and live out of a blender. The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

Funny you said that, I JUST found out about ON Mass Gainer and their recommended serving is contains: 1250 calories w/ 50 proteins 252 carbohydrates
I'm thinking of incorporating this to my smoothie, and eat 2 small meals a day. So by doing this, having half of my die being on bulking protein powder would not be recommended? thanks for answering
