Post How long should I bulk?

Beginnier to all of this been lifting for about a month but didnt know anything about nutrition. So I did some research and starting my bulking phase. So my question is how long is it reccomend I stay bulking for before cutting?

I'm age19, height 5'8", weight 115lbs. My body fat is about 9.3%. I do know for ~2lbs gain per week I'm supposed to be eating roughly 3400cal a day and match my protein intake to weight.
    (Yes I know I'm skinny that's why I'm here.)

So like I said what weight should I aim for before I start cutting? Any other tips I should know?

Bulk until youve added enough muscle and your lifts go up to a respectable point. I'd say a year minimum

Its not a weight thing, its a body fat thing before you cut and it will be whatever you are comfortable with. You won't want to do a 2lbs per week bulk as you will gain mostly fat from a bulk that aggressive. For estimations, a normal person lifting naturally can get .5 to 2 lbs of muscle a month, so you will want to bulk in excess to gain about 2 to 3 lbs per month making sure you hit your macros correctly. From here you will bulk to the point where you are comfortable with your body fat percentage. Female or male, 115 lbs at 5'8 means you don't have much muscle at all, so odds are you will have a longer bulking period.

Given that, by your stats, you appear to be underweight, you might want to gain a little more than the recommended 2 pounds per MONTH. Just remember, if you're doing everything right, you might manage 2 pounds of muscle gain a month, so 2 pounds a week is way too fast. You'll gain lots of fat and then be complaining about not adding muscle, but fat.

It's up to you OP. You can go by unhealthy bodyfat percentage or appearance.

Alright thanks I understand more now. I'll try to aim for 2-3lbs per month. To maintain my current weight is about 2,349 calories per day so I should be roughly eating 2500cal a day for a leaner bulk, keeping fat gain to a minimum. Does this sound better?
(Got the 2500cal per day from the bodybuilding.com calorie calculator)

    This.

It all depends on how heavy you can handle and your ability to cut. You have to gain fat but it can be a few months or a few years worth.

Bulk until you feel like you've bulked enough, and then cut to where you want to be.
Everyone puts on fat and muscle at different rates, so it's kind of impractical to ask anyone but yourself.
