The reason they are using the word "dehumanizing" is because it fits Twitters TOS that specifically has a rule that says anything "dehumanizing" is subject to ban. So it's what has enabled them to ban all those NPC accounts (which are completely innocuous) while minimizing backlash, just by using that word.

But, I agree with you on reinforcing it.

Edit: Twitter's whole dehumanizing speech rule just came out last month, just in time to ban any good mid-terms memes.

Odd, because apparently Twitter has refused to ban Louis Farrakhan over his "Jews are termites" comment because the duhmanizing rules haven't come into effect? At least that's what I just read. Getting ready for work so don't have time to check properly.

It's effective psychological/meme warfare because it will make people who don't form their own opinions move away from having opinions seen as being 'NPC' opinions (i.e. approved progressive opinions) because they don't want to be ridiculed.
