    Why should eat brown rice instead of white rice (a couple times a day)

    Brown rice just contains way more nutrition, have a look at this graph.
    In the graph, white rice has a value of 1, while the brown rice values are shown:


    You can eat white rice a couple times a day, but it's a good idea to switch to brown rice for at least a couple of meals a day.

    white rice digests much easier. the bran has anti nutrients (phytic acid) which lowers mineral absorption. it also is anti-androgenic as lowers DHT (inhibits the 5-a reductase enzyme)

    if you are focusing on grains to get nutrition in you're doing it wrong. the meat and vegetables you (should be) eating with it will cover your nutrition needs

    Stupid thread. Yes, Brown rice does contain better micronutrient value, but if you're relying on rice for micros, you are doing it very wrong.

    White rice is much easier on the digestive system and absorbs much better.

    brown rice actually has a tiny bit of flavor, white rice just tastes bland. prefer brown any day.

    i also get my rice at farmer's markets so that probably helps. lots of this mass produced goya bag rice is trash.

    Came to post a less clear version of this, lol.

    Somewhere along the line we fell behind and/or are being lied to on what's healthy. Even the most poverty of places know to remove the bran from their grains, ferment certain foods to break down the anti nutrient profile of them, or straight up avoid them.

    This, especially when in a surplus. You've got way more nutrition in a day than you know what to do with, provided you're eating well and not an idiot. Tossing some white rice in is a great way to increase calories and not put any unnecessary strain on your gut.
