I happened to catch a CRAZY deal on the 8lb bag of the Double Rich Chocolate
a couple of weeks ago so I pulled the trigger on it because I am a huge fan of choc
so I said what the hell and I snatched up 16lbs!

The other flavor was vanilla but I figured since I'm more of a choc fan I'd go all out
with the choc BUT had it been van funnel cake then I wouldn't have hesitated and
I would have grabbed 16lbs of that flavor.

Ingredients
Premium Protein Blend (Whey Peptides, Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate 97%), Whey Protein Concentrate, Cocoa (processed with Alkali), Soy Lecithin, Salt, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Gum Blend (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Dextrose), Silicon Dioxide, Acesulfame-Potassium, Sucralose.


Ingredient profile- 9/10- It's a pretty solid profile but the only thing that raises a question to
me is that on the container it states that the primary source of protein used is isolates and
peptides but the cholesterol amount per serving is 65mg and from my experience with proteins
that seems a bit high if isolates are the primary source.

If you look at other brands such as Universal Animal Whey and Cellucor Whey they claim
high amount of isolates used and their cholesterol numbers prove it by being 35mg or less.
I mentioned the same thing when I did a review for the Funnel Cake and honestly if MT is
gonna claim higher amounts of isolates used then their cholesterol levels should be in the
same amounts that the other two companies I mentioned are in. Other than that the profile
and protein amount per scoop is pretty solid.

Mixability-9/10- I've mixed over a dozen shakes so far using this protein and I use a shaker
cup water and each time it mixes the same with a head of foam. The foam settles a bit
but not completely but the foam doesn't take away from the flavor. I noticed no clumping
and really no floaters so other than the foam it mixed well.

I drink all my shakes in water but I tested this protein out twice in unsweetened almond
milk and the protein mixed up very well but with much less foam so if your a milk drinker
with your protein then you'll probably notice a lot less foam as opposed to just water.


Taste- 7.5/10- The name of this flavor is DOUBLE RICH CHOCOLATE but after really testing
this flavor out many ways I must say the name is definitely an over exaggeration. The flavor
comes through at first very creamy as if your drinking a vanilla flavored protein then you get
that coco flavor which is more on the dark side and not milk chocolate.

I personally LOVE dark bitter choc and I like the idea of this flavor not being a milk choc
but the flavor is much too weak.I don't understand why they choose to call this double rich
because it's not that at all and it should be called creamy chocolate. The chocolate flavor
reminds me of the taste you get from the inside of a malted ball candy also known as
Whoppers.

There is honestly nothing bad about the flavor and it's not bitter or it has no funny after
taste it just needs to be stronger. I've mixed this protein with cottage cheese and yogurt
and the flavor pretty much gets lost and it's barely noticeable. This is pretty much how I
consume most of my protein and usually I only need to add 1/2 scoop of whatever protein
I'm using to cottage cheese and yogurt and that does the job of really flavoring it up but
with this Double Rich Choc I found that I needed to add a full scoop just to get any real
flavor from it.

I've also tried this flavor in overnight proats and the oat flavor comes through a bit
stronger than the choc which doesn't happen usually with any of the other choc whey's
that I've used in the past so again this flavor is a bit weak.

Overall- 8/10- This is NOT a bad protein at all but if your looking at this Double Rich Choc
and your a choc fanatic like me I would suggest trying a different brand when it comes
to choc such as Cellucor Choc Molten, MY Protein Choc Brownie Batter, Animal Whey Choc
or Dymatize Choc Brownie but if you looking MT NitroTech Whey Gold then do yourself and
your taste buds a favor and grab the Funnel Cake flavor because it is one of the BEST and
most unique flavors to come out in the past year.

If you can catch the Double Rich Choc on a crazy deal like I did then by all means pull the
trigger cause as I mentioned there is nothing wrong with the flavor but it's just not strong
enough to be call Double Rich.

foams up a lot less in the milk than the water. I guess the weight of the milk
kind of keeps the powder from foaming but as I mentioned mixed in water the
flavor isn't affected by the foam.

Cherry Chocolate Chip Almond Oatmeal Protein Bars.

On these bars cherry is the first taste, then the almonds, and the dark
choc chips at the end but without the chips you really wouldn't know
that this was a choc protein used because of the light flavor.

Ingredients

1- 2 cups of 1 min rolled oats
2- 1 cups of Nitro Tech Whey Gold Double Rich Choc
3- 1/4 cup of chopped roasted almonds
4- 1/4 cup of chopped dried cherries
5- 1/4 cup of dark choc chips
6- 2 oz of unsweetened apple sauce
7- 1 tbs of liquid almond extract
8- 3oz of unsweetened almond milk
9- 2 heaping tbs of chunky no salt almond butter

In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients and in a smaller bowl mix all the
wet then pour the wet onto the dry and mix very well until all the dry is
coated with the wet. Then take the big blob of ingredients and transfer it
to a 7.5 in Pyrex dish that has been lightly coated with nonstick spray and
take the back of a wet spoon and slowly flatten the blob of ingredients into
the pan. Cover the pan and place it in the fridge overnight before cutting it
into bars.

Thanks for making some bomb recipes with it! The chocolate cherry bars look delicious!

I used Trader Joe's dried Tart Montmorency Cherries and WOW what a strong cherry flavor
that went well with the almonds, oats, and choc. You actually tasted the cherry flavor first
then the other flavors followed. This was definitely a very tasty protein bar where I don't think
you'd get this type of flavor from any of the bars that are sold in the stores.

I'm strictly a water user for my shakes but I used the almond milk just for review purposes
cause I know a lot of people do use milk for their shakes so I wanted to give a little feedback
on what it tasted like that way.



This is something that would go NICE with a cup of milk on the side.

Added bananas made this super moist and naturally sweet and along with the
crunchy coconut turned this into MT Nitro Tech GOLD cake.

Ingredients

1- 1 cup of MY Protein Oat Powder
2- 2 scoop of MT Double Rich Choc Nitro Tech
3- 1 tsp of baking powder
4- 3/4 tsp of baking soda
5- 1 heaping tbs of 100% cacao powder
6- 1/2 cup of unsweetened flaked coconut
7- 3/4 of a 1.65oz bar of 72% dark cacao cut up into tiny pieces
8- 2 bananas mashed up into liquid in a separate bowl then add it to the batter
9- 3 tbs of nonfat plain yogurt
10-1 tbs of liquid banana extract
11-2 egg whites
12-1 oz of unsweetened almond milk

Mix all the dry then add the wet and ingredients and blend thoroughly then pour
the batter into a 8in pan that has been coated with nonstick spray and place it
into a 325 degree preheated oven and bake.

Frosting- Mix 1 1/2 scoops of the Double Rich Choc with 1 tbs of a choc casein
based protein together in a bowl then add a few drops of water and stir briskly
until you get a spreadable consistency and coat the top of the cake with the
protein frosting and garnish with a little flaked coconut.

Orange Frosted Chocolate Protein Muffins

I know I've mentioned this before in other threads but if you've never tried the
combo of orange and chocolate then I highly suggest TRYING IT! it's tasty.

Ingredients

1- 3/4 cup of oat powder
2- 2 scoops of MT Nitro Tech Double Rich Choc Whey
3- 1 tsp of baking powder
4- 3/4 tsp of baking soda
5- 1 tbs of 100% cacao powder
6- 3/4 of a 1.62oz bar of 72% dark cacao cut u into tiny pieces
7- 10 dried Mandarin Orange slices cut up into tiny pieces
8- 2 tbs of chia seeds
9- 2 egg whites
10-1 banana mashed up into almost liquid in a separate bowl then add to the batter
11- 3 tbs of nonfat plain yogurt
12- 2 tbs of orange liquid extract
13- 2oz of unsweetened almond milk

In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients then add the wet and combine thoroughly
then spoon the batter into a 12 muffin pan that has been coated with nonstick spray.
Place the pan into a 325 degree preheated oven for about 22-25min. When done remove
and let cool completely before frosting.

Frosting- Take 2 scoops of and orange flavored protein I used Controlled Labs PROMore and
put it in a bowl then slowly add a few drops of water and stir briskly until you get a spreadable
texture then spread some of the frosting on each of the muffins. These muffins also tasted very
good without frosting just in case someone wants to make these without the frosting.

I left them in a preheated 325 degree oven about 8-9 min and adding
2 tbs of liquid almond extract along with the chopped roasted almonds
really tasted delicious with the dark choc chips.
