    Post Antibiotics and working out.

(I did not know in what category to put this question..)
I have to take antibiotics for 3 months because of acne... Do they affect my nutrition or workout routine? Can I keep working out normally? Thanks

The antibiotics typically used for acne should not impact your nutrition or workout routine from a physique athlete perspective. As always, ask your physician if they have any additional concerns or restrictions they want you to follow (I doubt they will for these antibiotics but in general it's a good thing to talk about when starting a new med). Also be aware of the potential side effects as there are quite a few with these antibiotics (again, you can ask your doctor about them... they should have warned you anyway). Make sure you realize these meds may make your skin much more sensitive to sunlight.

I have gotten AAD from certain antibiotics, and now use probiotics in conjunction to try to limit this. Personally I find that an S Boulardii containing probiotic helps, but you may want to ask your doctor about this.

To my knowledge, Florastor (which has S Boulardii) has the most evidence to be used for this purpose (and we give it to patients on antibiotics all the time).

Yes, have used that one and the generic version from CVS or Riteaid, whichever one has their own repackaged label next to each product with “Compare to...” on the label. Personally if I was on antibiotics 3 months i would take one of those for the whole duration, and even before and afterwards for a bit if possible.
