Hi everyone! I'm considering a second rack or squat stand so that my wife and I can train simultaneously in our basement gym. I currently have a Rogue RML390F with a few spare 5/8in accessories. I remember someone on here mentioned that their 5/8in accessories fit into the keyholes. For all of you Rogue Monster rack owners, can you confirm that Monster Lite accessories can fit into the bottom of each key hole? Thanks in advance!

They can fit but they wont be secure.
remember the key holes are in the sides of the rack so putting on a ML jcup wont really work as it will be on the side instead of front or rear.Best Raw total 1850 at 181 lbs

I was thinking of turning them so that the keyholes face the front. I know Nebamartinez had mentioned this before sometime in the past. The numbers will face the sides but they will still be helpful since you can see them line up with the pins. If I can make this work then I can still used various ML accessories along with new Monster accessories together.

I don't think this'll work. It just seems like there'd be too much play.. they'd be very loose fitting, not something you'd want. PM Neba and see what he says...

I think he has made this comment sometime in the past about one of his friends doing it on their monster rack but I cannot find the thread anymore. I asked something more generic about Monster Lite vs Monster a year and a half ago when I was trying to decide on my first rack after selling my Elite FTS rack.

Yes the bottom of the keyholes are 5/8"
What accessories are you wanting in monster lite? To let you know what could work?
I never intended the key holes to be used that way, but it is possible. Though the accessories could jump out as they weren't designed to stay in that way. Nothing really locking them in.Best Raw total 1850 at 181 lbs

Given all the compromises (including safety) being considered to use the extra ML attachments you have, why not just go with another ML set up? Keeps everything consistent.
Or, if you really want the Monster rack, bite the bullet and get new accessories.
Not sure why you are trying to mix the two and create something that is suboptimal to potentially save a few $$ on accessories.[]---[] Equipment Crew #73 []---[]

Thanks for checking this out for my dude! I end up with SM-2 I was going to use the custom belt squat platforms (quarter turn j-cup style mount) as well as the custom belt squat handles Mech6 made for me (also quarter turn j-cup style mount with hitch pin) . If I end up with RM3 I was going to use the Elite FTS Spotter Bars and J-Cups I had left over after I sold my rack earlier this year. What do you think?

You bring up good points and this is something I have considered. I have been toying with getting an SM2 if space is an issue or RM3; if it happens to accommodate my custom made belt squat platforms and handles as well as Elite FTS spotter bars and J-cups then it would be the best of both worlds. If the feedback is that it gets real wobbly then I might have to just get ML rack again like you said or put 5/8in ID 1in OD tubing into the pins. Thanks for your comments!

My hypothesis in asking about the keyhole sizes is if you face the keyholes forward, you can use monster accessories at the top of the keyholes (where it is 1" diameter) and ML accessories at the bottom of the keyholes (where it is 5/8" diameter) so that you use both at the same time. As long as the bottom was 5/8 and there is no upward force pushing the accessories up it should stay in place.

Custom handles by Mech 6
Custom monolift attachments by Mech 6
Belt squat platforms by BWTG
Elite FTS swing in safeties
Elite FTS Jcups
ML Sandwich Jcups
ML Safety straps
ML Pin and pipe safeties
Would be nice to be able to use a bunch of these accessories together but if the feedback from those who have tried this report that the fit is poor and safety is a problem I will obviously commit to either buying another ML rack or Monster with accessories.Last edited by Bluemirage75; 09-18-2018 at 09:23 PM. The only way I would attempt this is if you had some 1" pins to put in above the 5/8" accessory when it's installed.. maybe... still, it doesn't seem like a good idea. But it would really vary accessory to accessory depending on how they mount.

Either upgrade everything to RM or similar 1in holes or stick w/RML for your next stand/rack.
Pretty sure you could sell the RML for close to retail on CL and offset some costs if cash flow is a concern and you really want the extra heft of 1in hardware or the aesthetics of a 1in four way hole rack.
Having upgraded from an RML 690, Iron Mind Vulcan stands and a Westside 1.0 to a Sorinex XL Uber and their XL Yoke, it is nice to have two universally compatible training stations for people to do independent things if training w/the wife or buddies.
There is nothing inherently wrong the RML series and given what you’re looking to do, just getting another RML product will be the least amount of hassle and set up time.
Having moved twice in 2.5 years w/all that gear, there are moments when I wish I just had the Yoke and a roboust stand/another Yoke vs. a full rack. Nice stands and yokes can generally handle anything we’re throwing at it as well, especially w/Saftey attachments and weights on the skis for storage and stability.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to give me some feedback! Given that no one has been able to fully vouch for the safety of mixing and matching attachments for the keyholes, I will pick a rack with all monster or all ML attachments

If you have Mech mono's with 5/8" pin then i would heavily lean towards ML rack. Assuming monos brackets fit 3X3 uprights. Mech did suggest 5/8" pin for me while making custom mono's for my GPR378 which takes 1 1/4" pin accessories. I went with 1" pin for the mono and ended up with the rack with 1"pin after getting rid of GPR378. Hindsight i should have gone with 5/8" pin but i did not know better back then.
1" pins accessories are cool looking but way over kill IMHO. Ideally, 2X3 rack ( better designed)) with 5/8" HW is more than sufficient.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]
