Glad to see what looks like a positive change of thinking/direction in the IFBB
Congrats to Shawn Rhoden.

It's a bodybuilding contest, not a beauty contest
Actually I thought Roelly should have won.
It's a bodybuilding contest, not a beauty contest. Roelly's arms are 10" bigger than Rhoden's.
Rhoden has great lines, but he doesn't have enough muscle to be Mr. Olympia. His arms totally suck, both biceps and triceps under developed. The stupidest thing a bodybuilder can ever do, is to keep trying to look like a bodybuilder when he gets older. If he does, he'll wind up with "RIP" after his name.

Heath is coming in off kinda from 2014, where Kai deserve to win it.
Kai is probably mad right now and it`s giving the question why they did not punish Phill in 2014, where he has worst gut ever, and Kai was pretty good this year?
To be fair 2012 was pick them up with Kai, 2014 was definetely a gift for Phill, 2015 was a pick them up with Rhoden, 2017 Phill still have a gut, and Ramy was huge, but hes condition was bad and let`s said they choice the condition with a gut, then huge frame with just a good but not even close what Ramy need to bring on stage.
To date from Phill 7 wins, we have 1 gifted Olympia, 2 time pick them up, and 1 time where Phill was with a gut, but the main competitor - Ramy was not in a needed condition for the title.
But if they give the Phill title this year that would be a travesty of a decision.
I`m glad they made the right call. I can even said that Roelly was looking better then Heath this year and if Roelly come with the same mass or a little bit improvement in that department(mainly BDB) and with a 20% more conditioned(from the back) he can win the title easily.
I`m disappointed with Ramy, but there it`s obvious someone is holding him back. He even appologies on the social media ..... I love the guy, he is humble and nice and he really need to dumb this camel crew or whatever their name is.
Find better managers/coach and he got to move from there.
Just look what Dennis said for them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiTAOyDP5r4
And for Rhoden and that he is missing some parts, he has a hard pre going with the injury he got, but he done very well. Also the most important thing is how you show your physique and the whole package and Rhoden was definetely the best. And i think he can keep it atleast 1 more year if he come in a little better next year and i think he can do this.
Phill was looking insane in 2011 and 2013. This is his best years.

And, what about Shawn's back? High lats, way less muscular than Phil's or Roelly's. Phil kills on the back poses and side poses. Legs are better.. Triceps are better. If they were looking for most muscular with conditioning, that would have to be Roelly. Symmetry and abs go to Shawn, but is that enough to win it? Apparently so.. Kai, where are you when we need you??

How do I make sense of these numbers?
When Phil used to get perfect scores, his score would be prejudging: 5, finals: 5, total: 10. So I'm assuming there's five judges, and if they think you're 1st, you get 1 point.
So if Shawn got 7 for the prejudging, presumably 3 judges thought he was 1st and 2 thought he was 2nd. Then in the finals he got 6, so 4 thought he was 1st and 1 thought he was 2nd.
Is this right?

Let’s see
Phil faded hard at finals. Totally lost composure. I had him 2nd prejudging and 3rd behind Roelly at finals.
- Ramy was 8th after prejudging
- Nathan deasha ran his mouth so much and placed 8th overall.
- Sergio is trash and won’t ever place on top 6. Terrible attitude, worse than heath and thinks he’s the best bodybuilder ever based on his legacy alone.
- Juan morel placing dead last, where he should
- Iain should be happy placing in his first Olympia. 14th and probably top 10 next year
The interesting thing is rhoden is 43. Phil is done. Unlike jay who was only “off” when he lost, phil’s body lost its shape and there’s no coming back from that. That leaves the following Olympia very open because rhoden is beatable. ramy could win. Kai could make a comeback if his body isn’t a mess with age at this point. Bonac could win. Roelly could win.
It doesn’t look like anybody will have a 3+ year reign anytime soon because from spots 2-8 nobody is incredibly dominating. Maybe Brandon curry but he won’t ever bring his legs up enough.Last edited by bartosh; 09-16-2018 at 07:42 AM.

Shawn isnt perfect at all..Lacks back detail and thickness..lacks biceps and triceps..BUT his over all flow and symmetry are better than the others and maybe thats something they were looking for this year. Phil faded badly. He looked defeated. Didnt hold poses well. Seemed to tire out fast. Sweating the whole time. He is still capable of coming back and winning because he is still a freak with his muscle bellies and that 3D pop..Plus there is no denying his entire back poses are better..SO is Rhoden safe? NO..he got lucky I feel..Glad to see a new champ though..Mixes things up a bit.
!!!!DONT LIKE ME?..DONT AGREE!!!...DONT CARE!!!!..."drops mic"...PEACEOUT!!!

Most of the world arround, social media, youtube, name it are so happy with Rhoden as a champion. He has insane balance and flow to the physique.
No need to have 55 inches imbalance arms, that overpowered the rest of your body and you look stupid with them, to have great physique.
His glutes and legs was on next level in department to anyone, and they was bigger and better then Heath for sure.
His upper back is pretty okay, he need to work on lower.
But it`s all about if it`s hurt your frame, your physique and in Rhoden case, no it`s not.
And some people are probably hurt about Phil, but he was never the biggest guy, and he is f**** narrow, and Rhoden is wider then him. Yeah he lacks some lower back department, but hes back is wider then Phill, from the front as well.
You can clearly see it, and that`s help to his physique.
And Rhoden is great for the sport, he is real cool dude. After the win he was going to fails, because of the diets and all that stuffs and it was very hard for him. It was obvious he is not on himself.

I was thinking about Kai and what idiotic decision he took. He should go on the media and said the thing how it is. I`m not happy with that and that. Took a full year off to gain a lot of size, and then start his dialing month earlier and be sure to come in 110% conditioned and compete in 2016. Let`s said he refuse to be part of Mr Olympia 2015 for the screw job, but he should have come back 2016. If he was at his best or close to it, without a doubt he could have won 2017 and 2018. Maybe even 2016.
He should`ve been 2-3 time Mr Olympia now.
I`m sorry but he really f**** up.

I don't think Rhoden has an underdeveloped lower-back, I think his lats just insert higher up than people like Phil's. Phil's lats take up almost his entire back, whereas there is a considerable gap between the bottom of Rhoden's lats and his glutes, which makes it look like his lower back is lacking. He's been prioritizing his back for 2-3 years, but it's still a weak point.
