Do you guys wish that your gym offered a 2.5 option between every dumbbell? (ex. having a 57.5 and 72.5) If they did have them would you use them?

It would double the cost of already very expensive full dumbell sets as well as double the space required. Would it be useful...yes but platemate magnets also exist for this reason.
As far as utility consider 5lbs jump on a 40lbs weight is a 12.5% jump which is huge. Dumbbells don't let you handle as much weight as a barbell so the effect of a 5lbs jump is further magnified even on big pressing and rowing movements.
My 2 cents anyway. Useful but likely not worth the space or cost vs platemates.▪█─────█▪ Rogue Barbell Crew #27 ▪█─────█▪

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.

I can easily increment that or even smaller amounts using 1" washers (1/6 of a pound each) and 1.25 lb plates.
However adjustments can be a bit time consuming, have to spin this bolt off, so I usually set up my working set handles ahead of time and I have a couple handles now.
shown 69lb dumbbell made with CFF 38mm SDH4 handle with a 5/8-18x2" flange bolt that uses a 15/16" standard socket on this busted old sliding T handle, with a stack of 1/6 lb washers and 1.25lb plates.Last edited by ampire; 09-05-2018 at 12:48 PM.
