Hey all,
Anyone ever tried this?
I've got some spare money left and instead of buying random sh** was thinking of trying out some reselling, I.e - buying from Asia from Alibaba and re selling for a profit on Amazon/Ebay and Facebook groups, just random stuff like phone chargers or something,
Any responses with experience much appreciated,
Thanks

You are about 7 years too late, Broski.
Whilst you can do this, distributing/ retailing said products will be a pain and you might end up with dead inventory that you will need to clear at a loss. Or, if you think you are smart, you will pay out the nose for shipping if you prefer the no-inventory model.
The best way to secure success if to fabricate your own product and own the supply chain and distribution chains end to end. This will cost quite a bit of money

You're better off making a site like this:
http://www.shutupandtakemymoney.com/
and leaving an Amazon referral link. Dropshipping, affiliate, that sorta stuff.

Are you actually profiting from FB ads? Cause if you are, I'm impressed. CPC to website is $1 at least on average and that's just traffic not conversion, so unless you have organic, loyal customers already you'd have to spend hundreds a day just to get visits let alone sales. Also you're competing with big spenders in your niche
I think there was a miscer here who claimed you could work with $5 a day. I couldn't help but laugh.Jesus is Lord

NEVER source from over seas.
Those vendors aren't stupid brah, they will always have the best margins and will sell to you in small volume until you get a brand going and carve a niche out with their product... then piggy back your listing/brand/niche/profits and use their lower margins to under cut you or force your into signing a MAP policy and your f*cked.
That plus fees, shipping, and customer acquisition costs will leave you with hardly anything for your time and energy. Literally 10 years to late to the party son.Outdoors brah is a purely fictitious persona. Thanks for all the responses, was really helpful so what I got from this was:
-Buy a cool niche product from Alibaba that people may think is an impulse buy as the more popular products are highly saturated and you won't sell much if any, OR create a product yourself if you can think of a cool idea and that people would use and nobody has thought of.
-Setup a website and Facebook company page, think of a cool name for your brand and product and create all the necessary logo's etc.
-Share it with everyone on Facebook, add every single person you can and pretty much just send them a message that you're running a deal and they will get a discount of x% when they order. This will give you free advertising so you don't have to pay for ads in the beginning.
-If you get sale and generate profit from this use that money to run Facebook ads in addition to your adding everyone technique.
-Only invest maybe £50 ($100) maximum at the start to gauge whether your product will actually sell instead of just buying £200 ($400) worth and have a load of dead stock.
-Also if you want to generate a lot of traffic, become a professional in the field you're selling the product in. For example Stan efferding is a big inspiration he has managed to use all his fitness achievements to generate multi million dollar level sales on his products.

You know Instagram is not a bad way to market your business. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can gain attention through there, but it can be time consuming to maintain. You'll probably need a social media agency in the long run if you plan on doing this for a very long time.
Be careful not to choose one that uses automated bots though, that could get you banned. The only agency that uses humans to help with their Instagram accounts that I know of is Social Foxer
