Solid bench/tricep session Shane. You doubled my numbers from this morning. Lol. Way to get it done! 2 pounds per week sounds good. I was back on my way to leveling back out at 176 this week until my daughter walked in a while ago to give me the last of the cookies...
Yeah man it was crazy. My realtor said we were third in line so our deal was apparently the third craziest out there.

Didn't you just move into the house you are in recently?

Home made cookies are worth it man!

Ha ha... Yes, we did. We moved in here about two years ago. But due to the stairs (my wife's knees) and the proximity to that cell phone tower, we just don't want to be here long term. Plus with comps selling in one day for astronomical prices, we are thinking we should strike while the iron is hot. It's like we know we are about to move but just don't know where we are moving to. So if we can get an extra $20K-$30K by selling before the summer when more homes go on the market, we may as well go ahead. It's weird though. We love the neighborhood and if we are staying in Raleigh we don't really know of anywhere else we would rather be. It's just a weird situation....

Yeah, my daughter brought up the last of the cookies for me to polish off while I was working yesterday. No calorie deficit today!

Nice bench workout yesterday Shane. I like the 12 reps deal. I'm going to move to something like at some point.

Like Trent said, I like the goal of 2 pounds per week. That is definitely doable and should still leave you feeling good and strong.
If in doubt, squat and run hills. So you walk into the gym and don't know what to do? Then squat and run hills. Have a miserable day at work and want to break someone's neck but aren't sure who's? Then squat and run hills. - Wendler

Must be a relief to hit chest and not be held back by the knee?
    Good job that day.

What's your new cal count at?

Understand on the house! Now is definitely the time to sell but sucks to buy. Might be time to buy that retirement motor home as a back up plan if you do buy before securing your next house.

I have done decent this week on the diet but I would have done the same. Life is to short to turn down home made cookies.

Thank you Greg. I am trying something different this year. Instead of doing a longer one pound per week loss I am going to try to jump start it with a quick 2 pounds per week to get it over with more quickly!

Yeah it was a relief. Knee doesn’t really effect my chest workouts so they feel pretty normal.

Cals are right at 2700 right now.

    Friday Abs and cardio
    Ab wheel roll outs
    20 Damn abs still sore!
    20 Wow.
    20 That’s enough today.

    5K Row
    22:05.4
    That was a tough row

Damn my abs are still really damn sore. I can’t believe how sore they were. I was hoping after the first set they would get better but each set got progressively worse so I decided to not push my luck. 5K Rows are still needing improvement but I am happy with my performance and it was a great workout.

Sorry for lack f being in here this week. I plan to catch up on journals tomorrow.

House shopping saga continues. I went by to look at a house today. Nice house, only 7 years old, but the guy who bought it did all of his own home improvements. Including shade tree wiring, and installing his own a\c unit in the basement where he ran the duct work THROUGH the floor joists! Holy hell that explained why the floor bounced the way it did when walking through the kitchen. Crazy!

Solid couple of sessions Shane! 12x185 on rows is a damned impressive set man. The rest of your sessions looked good too. Crazy the ab wheel was hurting so bad. You do that fairly frequently right? Solid work on that 5K row too. Yeah, I can't even begin to explain to you how frustrating it is to buy a house where the previous owner did a lot of "improvements" themselves. Stay the hell away. That's all I can say. I could write about it all night long. Believe me! That is crazy he ran flex duct through the floor joists? Like he cut the joist webbing (boards)? WTF???? I mean, even if you don't know a lot about construction who would think that's OK? The previous owner of our home did a bunch of electrical work himself, which is unbelievably frustrating. When our washing machine is on the spin cycle (when that works) the lights get dimmer and brighter in the master bedroom (even though the washer/dryer have their own circuit???? We've spent thousands of dollars trying to fix his mess and eventually gave up... Anyway, sorry to get on a rant in your journal but that seems to happen in here once in a while. Best of luck with the house hunting brother. I look forward to reading more about it and will be joining you soon enough.

Thank you Trent! The ab wheel is my go to for Ab work but I really couldn’t comfortably do them for a about 6 weeks. First Ab session back hits different. LoL.

Yeah man, it’s nutty he did that. He Swiss cheesed all the floor joists, in multiple places per joist through the whole house. When the house gets inspected his wife is going to kill him. I will send you a pic that was on the listing for the house.

Sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with yours. That is crazy about the lights and power. Electrical gremlins are the worse!

Hopefully we both find what we are looking for.

I like it but I also don’t know if the cost is really worth it. The things you are paying for they do really well. The classes are motivating, and would be an excellent replacement for people who were gym cycle class regulars. My wife fits that model and loved the cycling classes. It also does a good job of tracking your performance and that makes it fun to try and best your past PRs.

I bought mine knowing I was not going back to the gym and the monthly gym payment would now be a Peloton monthly fee.

If it was just me and didn’t have a wife who liked cycling classes, I would have never bought one because I couldn’t stomach the 40 bucks per month fee for cycling classes. However I am pleasantly surprised at how much you get for your money.

Verdict, pricey piece of cardio equipment that keeps you motivated and is much more entertaining than your standard piece of cardio equipment. I never get off it dry. It does it’s intended purpose well.

Nice job on the Peloton ride Shane! That's great that you have that at your disposal and that it isn't hurting your knee. Hope you guys enjoyed that weather this weekend. We sure did. My daughter was complaining of it being hot....

Thank you Trent! Peloton is definitely nice.

I worked Saturday but did have a good time yesterday. Went and played some more frisbee golf. Yeah, my son was saying the same thing! LoL.

Great job this morning Shane and congrats on the weight loss! Solid sets on bench and Incline DB. I hope the knee doctor gives you some good news. Yeah I'm very happy to see March on the calendar. January and February are my least favorite months of the year. (I've said for years that I wish Christmas was in late January/early February so it would give us something to look forward to that time of year) The flowers are already starting to come up in our flower beds after one warm weekend. Sorry little fellas. It ain't quite that time yet.

Good looking workout today Shane. I think I found the 4 pounds you lost btw...

I had to laugh out loud when you described that house you looked at. It sounds like my house. My in-laws bought it and are selling it to us (didn't really have a choice on my part). The guy who owned it before them was definitely a shade-tree handyman and did a lot of stuff himself, let's just say "creatively". Since we moved in I've had to have various things done to it, including overhauls of the electrical system, plumbing system, AC ducts under the house. Every time a contractor comes to look at something they always say the same thing, "Wow! I've never seen it done that way before." Every time I hear that I cringe and get out the wallet.
If in doubt, squat and run hills. So you walk into the gym and don't know what to do? Then squat and run hills. Have a miserable day at work and want to break someone's neck but aren't sure who's? Then squat and run hills. - Wendler

4 lbs. down, that's an awesome kick off to this! Most folks are content to hold ground when recovering from surgery and its nice to see you finding ways to make it happen rather than being like the rest.
I don't know anything about houses but that electrical do it yourself guy sounds dangerously ignorant. No regrets on that one.

    Thank you Trent.

We discussed my looking surgery and he said see you in 6 weeks for a follow up. He did also say that I don’t have to wait 6 months post cortisone for surgery so it I need another shot between now and then it’s no big deal. That made me happy.

No doubt on the weather! We had low sixties yesterday and I woke up to frost on the truck this morning. LoL.

LoL. You can keep them Greg! Somehow they keep wanting to come back so convince those pounds to stay with you.

Houses can be that way! I am crossing my fingers and hoping my inspector keeps me from having those kind of issues down the road.

Thank you! Unfortunately those pounds have not budged any further this week.

Definitely no regrets on skipping out on that one! It would have been a nightmare.

Another crazy week. Something I really haven’t mentioned is my added workload. I have had to do double duty at my job. My sales manager has been out the past 6 weeks due to cancer treatment.

It has added a lot to everyone’s plate but I have had to do his job and mine. This along with running production 6 days a week has been crazy. Hell, it sounds crazy just typing it.

Thus the lack of journaling through the week.

I did get some training in though.

    Tuesday
    Back
    Clock puncher

    Lat pulls
    12 x 105
    12 x 115
    6 x 130

    DB Rows
    10 x 75
    12 x 75
    12 x 75

    KB Shrugs
    30 x 75
    40 x 75

    20:24

    Abs and cardio
    Ab wheel roll outs
    20
    20
    20
    20
    20

    5K Row
    23:08
Slow row but a good sweat

    Sunday
    Peloton
    30 minutes
    9.09 miles
    355 Cals

That’s it. I will weigh in tomorrow. Weight has bounced all week. Not going to adjust cals but going to make sure I drink more water and use my food scale more.

Unfortunately some times work and earning a living take precedence over lifting and posting. That's a very valid reason. What's more important is that you still have the drive to get back to it (especially lifting) when time permits.
I hope your manager beats cancer's azz and that life can return to normal asap for you.

Man, my hat is off to your Shane. That is a crazy work schedule. That is mighty noble of you to cover for your sales manager like that. I hate cancer more than words can express (lost my dad to it) and have always feared what it would do to my family if I got it and had to stop working. Good on you brother! But knowing you, I'm not surprised. Nice sessions last week. Way to get in what you can! Hang in there and keep kicking ass Shane!

Thank you. I am glad to be able to continue to lift.

I hope he does as well. We have been associates and friends for over 15 years. It’s a hell of a thing to see someone go through. I hope when I go it’s a heart attack or something more sudden. Cancer really is a b!tch.

Thank you Trent. I lost my dad to cancer as well so I can relate.

Going to keep getting after it.

    BP/Chest
    Monday weigh in 242.6
    Gained a pound. Idk.

    Red banded shoulder warm ups
    Bench Press/Face pulls
    9 x 145/20 x black band
    9 x 170/20
    9 x 200/20
    8 x 200/20

    Incline DB Press
    12 x 55
    10 x 65
    10 x 65

    Incline fly
    12 x 45
    12 x 45
    12 x 45

    Dips
    12
    12
    12

    Right at 40 minutes.

    Tuesday
    Cardio
    Peloton
    30 minutes
    400ish cals.

Man my weight has been nuts this week. I am gaining weight steadily. Idk what the heck is going on. Hit the scale and I was 244 on the nose this morning. Average daily steps are just under 16k per day so it’s not like I am sitting on my ass all day.

It has to be I am eating to damn much but with a 2 pound deficit set that should still leave some room to wiggle in some extra cals here and there so I don’t have to weigh everything I put in my damn mouth.

Idk, I guess I need to be more mindful. I will get it figured out.

Solid chest and cardio sessions Shane! Yeah, I hear you on the mysterious weight gain. You know my theory. I think there is a delayed response to diet and exercise adjustments. It seems that way to me at least. Just stick with it brother. Or maybe put in a small 20 minute cardio session every day (bike, etc.). That might help to tip the scale.

Thank you Trent. I agree, it can take time to have a response to dieting. I am just so accustomed to being to lose the first 10 really fast. Not sure why it’s so stubborn this time around.

    Good tip as well.
