    AdamWW's Retrospective 'Intuitive Eating' Test Log

    As some may know, I'm in a phase of ED recovery where I do not plan/track my calorie or nutritional intake on a daily basis.

    HOWEVER, my bodyweight hasn't been moving and my mindset around food has MUCH improved, so I am going to be 'retrospectively' counting at least my calories (if not all macros sometimes) at the END of each day, just to see where my hunger lands me.

    I thought it might be fun just to see what happens when I 'eat to hunger', while still making generally sound, 'adult' food choices most of the time... or some of the time... or when I feel like it.

    I'll take pictures periodically of what I munch on, comment on when I eat certain stuff, etc... and see how my bodyweight changes.

    I'm also doing a slightly modified F5 Intermediate U/L lifting routine right now so, I'll probably bring up lifting achievement if they happen.

    Goal is to reach 160-170lb by my 34th birthday (~ 1 year) and gain back my previous strength levels... which are WAY in the distance right now.

    Really looking forward to see what happens to my body when I eat totally freely and stop trying to time and track and plan everything.... brb eating like a teen again

    As a first entry (future posts will be way more detailed).... yesterday I had a horrible stomach bug so I didn't eat nearly as much as usual and didn't train.

    I ended up at around 2500 calories, which is too low for my goals right now... but having ice cream on hand helped a lot.

    It has been doing MUCH better, but sometimes as a result of my low weight and bodyfat I can over-eat which causes a lot of bloated. BUT, it's all part of the process. It's actually 'healthy' for me to 'over-consume' right now. heh

    Much appreciated bud.

    It's been quite a ride but my body has been slowly repairing despite not gaining almost any weight yet. It's interesting to be so lean/thin/light and yet have to consume more energy than many people far larger than I am. But, it's gotta be done for long term success!

    On another note... i made a huge, huge mistake by eating broc**** yesterday. I completely forgot how it wrecks my guts... been suffering and nauseous all day... could barely lift... but I got my lower pull session in....

    4 sets of 4 reps for Deads
    3 Sets of 7 on Romanian Deads
    4 Sets of 10 on Leg Press
    4 Sets of 20 for calves
    3 sets for abs
    3 Sets of ham curls

    Shytty thing is I know I need to eat more today, or that I should.. but damn I feel ill.

    Might end up just eating like 6 eggs with an avocado and hot sauce to get some calories in.... not sure what else I can stomach. ugh.

    yeah it's one of those things I always forget and pay for later... thankfully it's passed now though

    sadly, it's late and I need to sleep so I had to just fit in calorie-dense stuff since I'm hungry... 4 eggs + 1/2 an avocado, followed by a little ice cream. satisfied for now ;o)



    Today ended up around 3k calories by my recollection, loosely tracking from my proats in the morning, two turkey pesto pita's at lunch, a greek yogurt and an rxbar snack, then the egg dish I just had now.

    Tomorrow's an upper body day though and hopefully my stomach will be 100% by then.

    Thankfully, woke up hungry today... which almost never happens.

    Already got in oats + berries + protein + nuts and my usual coffee. Didn't get great sleep thanks for allergies and the warm weather, but i'm thinking about getting in a nap after working a few hours (working from home today), then heading to the gym maybe a bit later than usual.

    Feels really, really good to actually have no bloat going on... like usually I kind of walk around with a little bit no matter what, but today it's super comfortable. Nice.

    Well shyt... im a bottomless pit today... hah!

    Meal 1: oats + protien powder + berries + almonds
    Intra-workout: 10 starburst. Yeah... amazing
    Meal 2: 2 bagels, 4 eggs, 1/2 avocado, 2 kiwis, broc****
    Snack: rxbar, vanilla greek yogurt, banana

    And it's 1pm... i feel like I haven't even eaten... so... guess it's time for lunch #2. Yet, my stomach feels 100% fine.. which is great.

    Little bit! But I just did it today cuz im hungry and they were free ;o)

    Usually I can't stomach anything but I basically just slowly chewed them so it wasn't really bad at all.

    Ideally I don't have anything though... just water or maybe sometimes coconut water. Helps with the calories.

    Had a really weird day yesterday.

    Body was wrecked with fatigue so I ended up passing out from 5-9pm a while after training..

    woke up, stayed up until 11, then passed out until this morning at 630.

    had a quick scoop of whey, then hit the gym.

    Added 10lb to my squat since last week..... pretty crazy... didn't even feel that strong at all... but it happened..

    very happy about this

    I think it was the rest and food... i'm in that early-bulking 'spilled over' stage when I train now where my body feels very warm but my mind still needs to wake up in a sense...

    So when I unrack the bar, my body feels very rigid and ready to move... kind of hard to explain, but, I'm not going to complain


    I celebrated with 2 egg and Bagel sandwiches with hot sauce and a big bowl of fruit.

    Again my digestion feels amazing today simply because I'm not eating when I don't want to, or TRYING to eat foods I don't crave.



    That being said, I'm definitely noticing I tend to gravitate naturally toward proteins to satisfy cravings... like I crave salty/sweet chicken teriyaki like crazy, but I don't really care about eating some cake or cookies.

    Well the protein satiety thing kind of works against me... it fills me up LONGER which is kind of the opposite of what I want... so i've been trying to change from higher-fiber carbs lower ones, too... the issue for me most of the time is that I'm big on texture with my carbs. I love HEARTY breads with seeds/nuts in them but they also fill me up a lot.
