What can you buy cheaper on amazon than other places? I think most people shop there for perceived convenience and fast shipping more than anything else. The food prices on that site are expensive. Clothing prices are high. The only thing that is cheap is chinese crap, but that stuff you can get even cheaper at normal retailers or other online sites. Take tools as an example. You can get cheaper tools at harbor freight than amazon. I can't think of a single niche that amazon has the best prices.

Its hard to pass up a $100 bucks. I use my credit card strategically. I have a Marriott rewards and a Delta card. I put 100% of my purchases on them and pay them off at the end of every month. The perks basically pay for a significant portion of my vacation every year with the combination of personal and business travel expenses.

I definitely make my credit card work hard for me...

I know for Christmas I got everybody Amazon gift cards since I was able to get them with no tax and free shipping.

I don't think many other places offer something like that, and if they do they're some sort of "specialty stores" vs. being able to buy almost anything off Amazon.

Neat little perk if you ask me.

I cannot stand Amazon.. period. Unfortunately, it's my go to place for Christmas shopping because they wrap presents and have timely delivery. Their end goal is to get you to spend money.. just like costco. You pay $60 or $120 a year for a membership to do what.. spend money. Then, when you're at the store, you can get gas, a carwash and a slew of other things. All they want you to do is spend money.
Well the membership is for the shipping, which used to be great, but as of late has sort of sucked. About half the prime items I order take 3-4 days now.

Electronics/computer stuff for sure. They beat the pants off Bestbuy and other local places. Fryes can compete on some items. Amazon is cheaper than my actual business suppliers on most things.

It depends. Sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad.

But I don't buy from Amazon unless I absolutely cannot get the product anywhere else. The reason why I avoid Amazon is because they have a malicious practice of including the shipping price into their product making it look like one is getting free shipping through prime.

A lot of amazon cucks ITT.

Many are blinded by amazon prime.

brb spent $100 for prime, now gotta take advantage by ordering chit willy nilly without price checking against competitors.

Amazon owns you and you don't even know it.

Are you aware Amazon owns Zappos and the items come from the same stock?

One thing I don't like about Amazon lately though is that "add-on item" bull****.

I forgot exactly how it works, something like if you're trying to buy a certain item tagged as an add-on item you can't unless you're purchasing X dollar amount of other qualifying items.

That's that **** that's gonna drive me to go look elsewhere.

I remember when i was a young boy, and the milk man would deliver fresh, succulent milk that was freshly extracted from the utters of strongly built cows from the finest of human hands. I remember as soon as that delicious milk hit my lips, it was everything it was meant to be in the land of milk and honey. The hum of the diesel powered engine, as it rolled through my neighborhood in the morning, was a sign that I was ready to start the day and arise from my slumber to acquire the morning's milk. I remember when the milk man could take pride and prestige in providing many young children in the United States with fresh milk so they could have a healthy mind. Now the milkman is nothing more than a shadow that once existed in the finest of times. Things will never be quite how they were. Times have changed to adapt to our consumer needs, and the milk man may never see the light of day again.
    i prefer the milk woman

so you're saying part of the cost of prime is not being able to check prices anywhere? wtf lol... i check everything and amazon beats a lot of people on a lot of items, but i still check damn near everything in at least google shopping

Amazon offers convenience that's about it. Plus the reviews can sometimes help. Nothing beats ordering stuff on the comfort of your couch.

Amazon is the reason this website might not exist in 2-5 years.
