Don’t feel sorry for amazon taking over business anymore

Yesterday I went to buy some knee sleeves for a group run I had to do. I was pretty desperate and ended up going to 6 stores. They either didn’t have my size or just had braces which I don’t like the open design. Granted the stores were only 5-10 min apart live in la but it’s not worth the struggle when your guaranteed to find the item u need in less than 5 min at a much cheaper price too.

Uh, I don't think you get how it works.

Are you saying people are overpaying because Wal-Mart doesn't sell things for the price they get them for?

Yeah, I love local businesses that are fast and convenient, not just established.

    this.

look what happened to the milk man. I remember when i was a young boy, and the milk man would deliver fresh, succulent milk that was freshly extracted from the utters of strongly built cows from the finest of human hands. I remember as soon as that delicious milk hit my lips, it was everything it was meant to be in the land of milk and honey. The hum of the diesel powered engine, as it rolled through my neighborhood in the morning, was a sign that I was ready to start the day and arise from my slumber to acquire the morning's milk. I remember when the milk man could take pride and prestige in providing many young children in the United States with fresh milk so they could have a healthy mind. Now the milkman is nothing more than a shadow that once existed in the finest of times. Things will never be quite how they were. Times have changed to adapt to our consumer needs, and the milk man may never see the light of day again.

People dont realize that a significant portion of the stuff they buy on Amazon is fake...They also dont seem to mind paying more. I regularly find the same item 10-15% cheaper with free shipping...

Amazon is easy and they've managed to make it a guilt free process that doesnt actually feel like you are purchasing items...They have one button ordering systems that removes the fact you are making a digital purchase with no cart or a purchase associated...

Idk why everyone on here always says how cheap amazon prices are. Most of the time I find the same products cheaper on ebay or walmart. Especially if is an amazon prime item. Most all amazon prime products are sourced from alibaba via FBA sellers. You can just go to aliexpress, alibaba, or ebay and buy the exact same item for cheaper than amazon.

It's all cheap Chinese garbage anyways. Just buy it straight from the alibaba and cut out the middleman (amazon and FBA sellers)

I honestly can't think of anything you can get cheaper on amazon than regular retail stores, ebay, walmart, or alibaba. And I buy 1-2 things a month from amazon just for convenience, 2 day shipping, and I like the layout of the platform and the reviews. But the prices aren't the lowest.

Go to a dollar store like dollar tree. Spend some legit time in the store looking at items for $1.

Now go to walmart. Same goods are being sold for $5-10 on average from what ive seen.

Amazon Prime was literally a stroke of genius. The vast majority of people buy from Amazon because of "free" two day shipping that they have because of prime. They've forgotten that Prime is a subscription for "free" two day shipping yet almost every retailer offers free shipping within three days WITHOUT a $90 a year premium...Its a psychologically trick that locks people into buying from Amazon AFTER they've already given the company $90.

I like Prime and Amazon but I LOL at the sheep that hit add to cart simply because they sent Amazon $90. You can google and find the prices cheaper a significant portion of the time yet people pay more because of Prime...There is literally nothing easier about Prime and or Amazon after you've set up an account with a couple of additional retailers.

I've never once used Zappos but I'll check em out. One of my previous co-workers left and went to work for Zappos. He said it was an awesome culture and loved the "beer-o-clock" hour they offered. People there can drink a beer on the clock.. but it has to be tracked through the ipads and such. Neat little perk if you ask me.

I cannot stand Amazon.. period. Unfortunately, it's my go to place for Christmas shopping because they wrap presents and have timely delivery. Their end goal is to get you to spend money.. just like costco. You pay $60 or $120 a year for a membership to do what.. spend money. Then, when you're at the store, you can get gas, a carwash and a slew of other things. All they want you to do is spend money.
    :D

Zappos service is in a league of its own...You will like them. They basically empower their employees to do whatever it takes to make it right.

Pretty sure back then, almost ALL companies charge shipping fee. Now days, amazon is too big and companies try to compete with them by offering free shipping, but it's too late. Prime memebership is so different now, they have own credit card(5% cash back), more discount, free shipping, even discount on Whole Food now.....

It's all cheap Chinese garbage anyways. Just buy it straight from the alibaba and cut out the middleman (amazon and FBA sellers)

I only order it if its a killer deal to begin with. I'm sure most are that way?

They've definitely added "value" to Prime but I honestly dont know anyone that takes advantage of it. Everyone I know that has Prime and gets the free video service still pays for Netflix...and I dont know anyone with the Amazon card or that uses the discounts.
