There's so many opinions on this, just trying to see what the most sanitary method is. Some people just rinse off and put it away which seems pretty fkn gross. Yes, I know about the eTeRnAl FlAvOrInG I'm missing out on by cleaning.


Rob Qaeda - I've read the salts actually pit the pan's surface further and can actually work against you? No?

Been doing so for very long time not noticed or had any problems, the one pan I have is much older than me and that's how its cleaned only when needed I have never used soap on any of my cast irons ever. People love to have opinions ofc lol based on little to nothing largely with respect to cleaning one, but I would never use soap I use animal fats to cure mine on a grill upside down like once a year or every few or so.


Salt bad.. like give me a break.. salt bad but me scrapping at it over open fire that coo whoever said that seems dumb lol professional kitchens often using these or other cast griddle/tops clean with stainless chainmail just btw... most home cooks will use kosher salt if it gets to that point that you need to actually use an abrasive. I'll believe it when I see it happen.

If your interested in a similar quality pan tho without as much need here on maintaining it a tri-ply/fully clad stainless skillet/saute pans, would be the way to go there much more durable on how you clean them and are equally great tho they will cost a little more initially but not too much you can get a decent one for a similar price. I use primarily fully clad stainless and cast iron several of each from 12" up to 18"

Tramontina here makes one specifically for walmart which is fully clad and every bit as good as an allclad just for only 37$ it's not a disc bottom or tri-ply base but a fully clad pretty solid deal and will last forever and is used in the same fashion

Truth best way for sure lol it helps loosen anything stuck typically doing so as well

My advice was only if you either forget or something is super stuck on it that didn't come loose just btw

‘Tri-ply’ - 2 sheets of stainless steel with a layer of Aluminium between. Helps with better heat distribution.

As I say, it’s used almost every night, I love it.

Just most quality more authentic round bottom wok's are carbon steel tho, most stoves Western~ US/UK stovetops/burners obviously outside commercial quality just lack the heat to utilize one properly so makes sense to have either cast or clad stainless.

We viewed a house a few months ago as we were thinking of moving and they had a proper wok burner on their stove. If we’d have bought the house, I’d have had to have spent a few hundred quid on a chit-hot wok for that bad boy.

You're weak!

I've found as I get older, I can tolerate more yohimbine. Before, a simple 2.5 dose would cripple me and I wouldn't be able to sleep and the cold sweats for hows. Now I can take 15-20mg and be just fine. Some more sweating and higher body heat of course, but none of the negative sides.
