Dude. DUDE. I don't do pics of food, I'm not a hipster bitch, but GODDAMN there is mindblowing food there.
- shawarma. The spices they rub on it, ****. Splooge. Nuts.
- hummus. You've never had real hummus, trust me. The real stuff, hand made, swirled on a plate, topped with whole chickpeas marinaded in lemon and olive oil, with a warm chopped egg on top, and sprinkled with za'atar, sumac, and drizzled with fresh pressed olive oil, and mopped up with laffa hot off the oven
- falafel. Yeah, you have no idea. Soft, fluffy, either dark green or yellow, and crispy on the outside.
- pita. Thick and pillow soft. no one makes it right here. No one.
- kurdish katchapuri from Ishtabach
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura..._District.html Holy ****
- whatever Miznon is serving.
https://www.secrettelaviv.com/best/b...on-king-george Their modern take on standard Israel food is just mind****ingly awesome. It's loud as ****, seating sucks ass on the sidewalk, it's jam packed, but then the food arrives and panties drop.
- Dalida.
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura..._District.html Read it: Spicy feta Brulee; Arab cabbage and potato in champagne w/ seared calamari, bacon, champagne foam; eggplant siniya; sea bass in ethiopian tomato sauce; Lamb, pistachios and halloumi kebab; Mango Yuzo semi fredo , Pistachio financier, brown butter cream, savory shtroizel, kadaif, thai basil, shiso; Cannoli, Mascarpone and dates cream, walnuts in geranium syrup, milk crumble, Indian Halva, sorrel; Oum Ali, semolina cake and hot malabi (Vegan). This chef is magic.
- Hachapuria.
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura..._District.html Georgian bread filled with cheese, eggs, potatos, mushrooms. Simple, and seemingly mundane, but it's anything but mundane. Elevates 'bread' and 'cheese' to #swoon levels.
- whatever the old Druze couple were making in the middle of a mall in Ashkelon from a hot plate on a card table, bootleg style. Like wtf, fresh olive oil from their yard; lamb kibbeh; flat bread made to order on some iron dome (no boom!) over the burner, spread with home made cheese; roasted, fried cauliflower patties; home made olives. Wow. I wish I had taken a pic.
You'd go nuts there.
