It was pretty badass seeing Lashley's meanstreak. Him touching hands with the audience during his entrance, then after the match snubbing that same section of fans with a thumbs down and a dirty look.

Needed a mouthpiece though.

Speaking of, I am all for bringing up these 205 roster talents as managers for the big guys. First AoP with the GM of 205 Live and now Lashley has a 205 manager too. Could've been cool to pair Heyman with Lashley though leading to Lashley/Brock but I digress.

when Dudleys were in ECW (old ECW, not WWE/ECW) Bubba Ray, did a ton of behind the scenes stuff, from collecting money from merch sales, setting the card, etc (seemed like him and Dreamer ran the show)... got to meet him on a few occasions, very kind, very smart guy.

Whenever the Dudley Boyz mention their first WWF feud and how they passed the test with the APA it always makes me think back to that underrated tag rivalry.

APA stiffed the hell out of the Public ENemy so bad on WWF Heat that the match had to be edited. They potatoed them either to test them and they didn't pass it, or because they were an unwelcomed original ECW act. Many were speculating that as how the Dudley Boyz would end up, but they stiffed the APA first. They hit them hard with 2x4's upon their debut, and the backstage attacks on Raw the Dudleys gave it to them hard too because they knew regardless of how they worked with Bradshaw and Faarooq that they would give it back to them either way. They did too. So the teams developed an understanding at the start. They had a solid match I recommend revisiting on WWE Network from Unforgiven 1999. That is seen by fans, pros and the Dudleys and the APA alike as the night they passed the test with the APA and JR officially reported on his then Ross Report that the Dudleys earned the respect of the boys in the back.

Dudleys also disliked the Public ENemy since they put PE over and PE never came back to return the favor the next week as they said they would do. Public ENemy never returned to do the job to them, instead they signed with WWF to get no crowd reaction and a lasting asswhoopin' at the hands of the APA. Career was pretty much spent after that.....

Respec to Rocco Rock btw, but Johnny Grunge was always horrible.

Stone Cold recently put Pillman over as the best backstage promo guy of all time, he and Arn. I disagree with Mr. Rattlesnake a bit. Also said he barely knew Pillman aside from crossing in the halls until they became a tag team. After that he spent some time with Pillman at his home and he seen all these plaques and framed pictures of Pillman's NFL days. Austin had heard in the WCW locker room that Pillman played football, but he was shocked that he was that big a deal of one. They became best buds for years after. Austin wears that gold necklace Pillman got him because it's the most sentimental piece of jewelry he will ever own.
