Help desperately needed. Honestly, just CANNOT lose weight. No Bull.

Ok so I actually cannot lose weight.
Have you came here to tell me to just create a calorie deficit ? Yes, I know.

I have been strength training and working on my body for years. I used to be toned and athletic for years and years.

I’ve been vegan, been avid meat eater, everything. I worked in Holland and Barret even lol. I trained as a PT! I have done it all.

I am 30 and for 3 years I have been 20kg overweight and it is incredibly hard to move even 1 kg then it comes back.

The problem is that I do eat too much and I cannot control my appetite. I did, or have got bulimia if you want to call it that. My head hurts a lot and I need to eat sometimes. Toxic hunger.

I am exhausted. As of now I cannot be bothered to exercise. I was trying but I am tired ! Exhausted.

I paid a fortune to get tested for thyroid, deficiencies, the lot. Although do point out something if you think it is relevant.

I just can’t lose weight. At all! Or, I can’t stop eating ****. What the hell do I do ?
I swear to god I really am an unusual case. Trust me, I was psycho when it came to the gym, body fat%, weight training etc.

Now, I’m just a fatty. Not massive, but chubby. I tried phentermine. The only thing that worked for me. Then it stopped me sleeping and that in turn made me eat more.

Honestly I am almost an expert on nutrition and fitness etc. That’s why i just think there is something wrong with me. But what. I have noticed that eating gluten (and no, it’s not the carbs!) makes me hungrier and tired.

I just really need help. Like you wouldn’t believe.

The calorie deficit needs to be over a period of weeks/months in order to lose fat. If you're eating too much when you lose control of your appetite, it could be wiping our your deficit. Sounds like you just need to be honest with yourself and really track what you're taking in.

I'm 34, had trouble losing weight. Went to do a testosterone test and it came back low.
Can't really talk too much about it as I guess it's against the rules here and my other post got banned for it, but have the blood test done, if it comes back low, seek help. Mine came back low, dr. Gave me a 3 month prescription and look at my before and after pictures in my profile.

    Good luck

Yeah I’ve been tested for that too. Mine is 19.3 which is bang in the middle of normal. In fact all of my tests results were perfect.

It all started when I got labyrinthitis. An ear infection that causes virtigo and tiredness. I just put weight on and now can’t get it off since 2015. Labyrinthitis lasted 6 months.

It’s just madness. Maybe I have got some kind of emotional issues or whatever.

I just always seem to be tired and low and then I need to eat high calorie food to feel normal. Lack of sleep brings it on. Gluten does believe it or not. Then I usually need to exercise to supress my appetite but some days I just can’t be assed, like really.

I feel like there’s too many things that need to be inbalance and right for my appetite to be normal.

There MUST be a complex eating disorder going on. Well there is really. Always has been.

I am going to give up cardio because I hate it now. And start doing anaerobic stuff and strength training. Haven’t since I was about 25z

You aren't alone if this is the case. Studies show excellent rates of reovery for folks who have the courage, and sense to seek out qualified profesional care. You are worth it, so reach out for some help IRL.

Lol. I know I am answering my own question.

Surely there’s a forum on here for eating disorders. Must be rife in bodybuilding, bulimia.

I will seek “professional” help if it is professional. I dunno. Therapy is a bit mamby pamby for me, even as a gay guy. You just talk to someone and they listen. What you gunna do, sprinkle fairy dust on me and change my life experiences.

I will think about it though.

I doubt that you will, sincerely. Most people with eating disorders eat to fulfill some emotional void in their lives, or to have a sensation of feeling well and happy, because the rest of their life is missing that- it fulfills an emotional need. So mental health therapy exists to address that. You are showing classic denial and redirection of this with a preconceived notion of what it is and what it does.

I wish you the best, Paul.. I'm sure it's really hard to deal with this situation, but I'm also sure that if you take the right steps, you can overcome it as well!

You are correct. Here it is: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showt...hp?t=173534851

Don't consider it professional help, but it's probably a good place to start talking to others who have been or are going through similar times.

There is not. Help for such a serious psychological problem is not within the scope of any internet forum.

    Seek professional, in-person counseling.
