43 yr old female, been working out for almost a year and stuck for 3 months within 10 pounds of my goal. Stuck in rut eating basically the same thing everyday because it worked. (Mostly all protein and very little carbs). What should I change to shock my metabolism?

Eat more.
Your body gets used to what you give it. Mix it up by eating a cheat meal. If you have been wanting lasagna, eat a big meal of it. Dont delete other meals to offset it or you wont see the results you want.
Obviously, dont do this the night before your weigh in but do it after your weigh in.
Its scary to do this but it works. Just trust it. srs."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. All protein and very little carbs for a year? You're not in a rut, you're out of balance. A lot of that protein is going to waste, being metabolized for energy. You need a better distribution of protein, carbs, and fats, make sure you get the right micro-nutrients, and adjust your caloric intake to your activity level.

I’d suggest a more balanced 40/30/30 diet.
Low carb can help lose weight to start but eventually you stall.
More carbs will also give more energy for workouts.
Make them healthy carbs... nobody ever got fat eating carrots and apples but they did eating dough and refined sugars.
You also don’t say what your workout is. Changing that up can help, too.
You may need to adjust your calorie intake as well. If you’ve lost weight what was a deficit calorie intake may now be a maintenance intake.Last edited by tanksoldier; 06-16-2018 at 02:26 PM.
