    JaySun's Post Knee Surgery Recovery

    Well, I had meniscus surgery the Friday of Memorial Day w/end, by Tuesday I was gimping around w/out crutches. I finally got the clearance from my doc to start exercising; I just can't run, jump or do the OLY lifts. My recovery plan until August is to focus on metabolic conditioning, body weight and gymnastics. I can do some DB lifts (seated) and may be able to throw in a KB swings towards the end of the summer. I will also be able to swim. Here's what I did Monday 6/11:
    Row, 150 m
    21 Seated Dumbbell Press, 30 lbs
    Row, 300 m
    15 GHD Sit-ups
    Row, 450 m
    9 Pull-ups
    Row, 600 m
    6 Push-ups
    Row, 750 m
    3 Handstand Kick up (free standing)s
    Row, 900 m
    3 Handstand Kick up (free standing)s
    Row, 750 m
    6 Push-ups
    Row, 600 m
    9 Pull-ups
    Row, 450 m
    15 GHD Sit-ups

    Let's just say that I felt this before I even went to bed...

    Tuesday 6/12/18:
    25' AMRepsAP 12-10-8-6-4-2-1 reps of:
    500m row@2'19'/500m pace
    Hand Release Push-up
    GHD Sit-up
    Ring Row
    Dip
    Handstand Kick up (free standing)
    If you finish all of the reps before the clock runs out, you finish with a strong effort row@less than or equal to a 2'20"/500m pace for the remainder of the clock.
    I had 5'53" left and rowed 1255m@2'09"/500m pace.

    Working on painting some OSB for the garage ceiling replacement the rest of today and laying sod tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day.

    Glad to see you back in action my friend. That's a heck of a way to get back into it! I'd be feeling Monday's metcon by the time I was halfway through! It looks like we are in similar situations right now. I have a little more use of my legs right now but still can't do squats or deads with any real weight and sure as he!! no running. At least yours has a positive prognosis though. Mine is just "there." Anyway, I'll be your fellow "college guy" doing nothing but upper body for a while.

    Thanks buddy! Not sure how much I will be posting once June is over as we will be on the road the whole month of July. Hope that your hip gets better soon. Surely there is some rehab you can do to make it feel better?
