Has anyone had any success with this combo?
Six subjects with marginally elevated blood pressure in the range of 140/90 were assigned to take placebo for 10 days. After a one week washout period they then took vitamin C 2,000 mg. daily for 10 days. After one week of further washout the six were then given 650 mg. daily of garlic tablets for 10 days. After the last washout, garlic and vitamin C were then given another 10 days. The vitamin C apparently did not have any effect on blood pressure. The garlic did result in a lowering of systolic but not diastolic pressure. However when both vitamin C and garlic were given together mean systolic and diastolic pressures were reduced to 110-120 and 75-80. The blood pressure increased when the combined supplement was stopped. The authors of the study suggested that garlic and vitamin C increases production of nitric oxide by about 300% which positively affects the inner lining of blood vessel cell walls.

I have experimented with this a while back, garlic itself is very rich in vitamin c , so I fail to see the need for even more unless your diet in general is bad. My main reason for taking however was for the anti-oxidant properties of Allicin. This "cleansing" of free radicals and is supposed to be beneficial to the endocrine system. I cant say much for what i experienced anything life changing however my diet is pretty good. I think YES is you are deficient in your diet , it will definitely assist in more ways than a Nitric Oxide boost.
I definitely lowers blood pressure though, I was reading up o this i remember seeing cautions of using it with aspirin or beta blockers due to the fact that these meds already lower blood pressure

There is just as many positives as negatives.
A quick search on Vitamin C:
Vitamin C is required for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It is used to form collagen, a protein used to make skin, scar tissue, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. ... For male athletes, Vitamin C will keep testosterone levels high by supporting a lower ratio of cortisol to testosterone

I hate commenting in your threads Fug...
But...
I have used both of these in high amounts mainly for health reasons. I did not notice any change in my workouts and/or even lipid profile. Mind you, I have always had a good lipid profile over the last few years so there may not be too much there.
Prior to a workout, you should not be taking either. First, pre workout ingredients should be taken on as much of an empty stomach as possible and both of these will cause heavy gi distress under that condition. Even buffered can regardless of advertisers.
Garlic for health such is kyolic is fine, some vC is fine but I doubt you will notice anything beyond a few hundred mgs except diarrhea. Take them both with a meal.Your nutrition and workout program determines your success.
FL and NC crew. Lol @ living in PA. Just LOL.
