From an evolutionary psychology perspective imagine if they did tell guys the truth. Then how on earth would they be able to differentiate between good genes and bad genes if all the men act attractively. It wouldn't be helpful at all. When I was leaner girls didn't care to look at me now that I have more body fat girls still don't care to look at me. If you have an ugly face it doesn't matter if you got a good looking face you can get away with a dad bod. I know I sound negative but just my personal experience.
